This QB situation has gotten lots of people writing with personal opinions, as if it wasn't bad enough already.

Gabe has said that Lock perhaps keeping the starting job is just his opinion, and nothing more.....which is exactly what we should take it as.

I'm not saying that Gabe is wrong...regardless of what I think about him as a journalist (or any of the other guys)....just that people need to take his opinion for what it is, his OPINION.

It is safe to say that NO ONE(outside GP and a few coaches), probably not even the players, know what is going to happen to Maty after saturday. GP has never had a situation like this.

For alot of people who claim to want the best for Maty, there is alot of assuming the worst.

right, they can have the same "sneaking suspicion" as the rest of us and not want to say more, hence the "I won't report more w/out facts", so all we are getting to is they hear some rumors that mostly we also hear too, online.

I understand TB had a "crackdown on posting rumors" the other day, so yes, they talk about their opinions as well as the fact that they know.

He also said something like "I base some opinion off the fact that Pinkel tends to hold QB's to a high standard",, ok no offense, but "no duh", again that's not insider info, or anything we can't figure out by not being dunces.

The "eyeball test" also says Lock can do things that make the offense better, run more smoothly and move the chains, that's something that the coaching staff is heavily invested in making happen so it's really kind of a no-brainer to say that Lock is the guy going forward. See how I figured all that out w/out any "insider info"..

Had a conversation with one of my buddies from my beer league softball team last night. He is really good friends with one of the football players and this is what he told him:

Apparently another teammate informed the coaches that Maty and his roommate have been dealing drugs. After hearing this, some of the coaches visited his house/apartment and found said drugs. That's a wrap

Edit: Also just spoke with a co-worker who is really good friends with a figure that's high up in the athletic department and he said the teammate telling the staff about Maty led to a surprise drug test, which he faild. This led to the coaches going to Mauk's place.

If that's all true, he's done and I have no sympathy for anything other than his dad. Talk about throwing a future away...

Just like your opinion that Gabe was blowing smoke about Lock not being redshirted this year.

Not sure this makes sense, as controlling as ncaa is they would certainly have to report a failed drug test and then to not being the authorities in when drugs were found would cast a cloud over mizzou while they still try to regain control with our situations previous years

I have to agree. A player is rumored to be "Dealing" and you find drugs and at that point don't contact authorities to let them investigate? I don't think any coach or athletic department does that. That could get everyone fired. I gotta call BS or at least say the story has been embellished a bit.
