What do you not like about moving the location? I wouldn't mind it in the city if there was room to build lots to tailgate in like KC. Parking garages suck arse.
Oh my, where to begin. Besides the fact that your idea is about as good as the aids vaccine would for a birthday gift. It ranks up there with the idea to put the new Busch Stadium in Illinois (remember that nonsense?).
This is a layered argument, like an onion. But I'll just make one layer of the argument.
The city of STL needs the stadium downtown. As we go forward as a city we must get the downtown area going.
New ballpark village is going to be great, never really thought much for it, but once this thing is up n running it's going to put some life into the city. Add a new riverfront football stadium, and we've got something happenin'.
A place like Boston can pull off the suburban stadium, Dallas too. STL needs that life in the city. They need it like a fat kid needs sweets.

The lack of tailgating options is absolutely an issue now and if its not addressed, no matter where the stadium is built, will be an issue still that detracts from the game day atmosphere.
We are what we are, we're not a tailgating city, we go to the bar and then to the game. And you don't know how the parking situation will end up if they build a new stadium. There is so much run down shite that they could clear away an area and end up building a big lot.
With the way you spell arse, I'm surprised you're not for the team going to London. Cheerio, good lad.

Agree. The parochial nature of the St Louis metro has hurt the core of the area. The city/county rift etc have led to the problems. You cant have your core rot and not expect it to affect the other areas of the metro.
Like you said, having a good entertainment and sports areas is vital to revitalizing the very important core.

I was just saying that they need to address this issue. Its very possible to do so and keep the stadium downtown.

I dont even know what this even means...

I'm not opposed to it staying in the city and I know the city needs it, but can it be done right in the city? One, you can't head much further north. Second, can you make it conducive to tailgating in the city?

Ahh, my bad. That arse/arse comment was meant for reedus.
In englad, australia.. all those countries they say arse instead of arse.

I don't know if this is true. It is the way things are right now because there is no other real viable option. I remember tailgating for Cardinal football games on those crappy lots under the highway. I think you'd find tailgating taking off if available. I guess the local businesses might not care for that though.

Yeah, I think it would take off a bit if available. But tailgating is either in a fan bases blood or it isn't, just don't think it's really in our blood. Think we're perfectly content with hangin' out at a bar then head to the game. And yeah, the local establishments benefit.

For some weird arse reason people always negatively respond to Kilo when their response was meant for someone else. It's weird.

What a bunch of arse holes.

They local bar owners and restaurateurs have made no qualms about bashing pro football in the area. Look no further than Kim Tucci and his Rams bashing and outspoken desire for the Rams to LEAVE St Louis.

Cleveland just marched right down the field on our 1st team defense.

Thought they did decent against the run. Not so much the pass. Must be something in the water in this state.

It's not time yet....
But another week in this current trend and it's Wong time..
Carpenter is falling off. Offense is dying bc of it.
Wong is hitting .385 in August.
If both keep going in the same direction you gotta think about Wong getting a shot at leadoff. Would have rather brought him up in Sept and given him some starts in the 7 hole... but we need a leadoff guy now.
Play whoever is hitting between Freese and Carp at 3rd. And still give Carp starts at 2nd.

Yepp, these bats need to find some consistency. Can't go in a drought for 6 days and then explode for 13 runs on day 7. That won't get them anywhere.

This a pretty epic collapse.

Matheny is mismanaging this club as well. He is still green.
Baseball is a game that always finds its norms. The pitching and the hitting, especially with RISP, are scrambling to find said norms.
There is also something to be said about the value that Yadi Molina has to this club.

Matheny looked stupid last night.
For once an ump wasn't a dick, DD was out, DD yelled at the guy on his way to the dugout. Then kept yelling at him from the top step. He was given a gift by the ump to even make it to the dugout without getting thrown out. Then MM runs out and puts on a show. Dumb.
Matheny isn't who I thought he was gonna be.
I pretty much hate Mo and Dan Kantrovitz.
Yadi is super missed, obviously. So important to have him.

Yea, I have always been more prone to error on the side of caution while others proclaimed Mozeliak the second coming. Kantrovitz is that new wave of saber/sight types. Jury is still out on that.

I cringed when they hired Matheny. I cringed even more when a veteran club carried him last year and he was given credit for that success.
The club needs a real manager.
The irony though is that MO deserves a pat on the back for the Molina deal.
