Congrats to your cards and good luck to them in the playoffs. I like seeing Missouri teams do well.

Ditto KC. Should be interesting this year. Just so much youth on this team I really don't know what to expect in the playoffs.

Lance Lynn gets game 2.
Wish Shelby would have gotten the ball on that one.

So, Waino, Lynn, Miller...then who? Wacha?

If he throws two rookies out on the mound in back to back road games in 5 game series...

Waino/Miller Lynn/Kelly Waino in GM 5

Lynn should be coming out of the bullpen, but they're afraid to go with 3 rookies (although I don't really consider Kelly a rookie).

Lynn almost shouldn't even be on the playoff roster, but since they're afraid to go with rookies, starting him game 2 makes sense. He is atrocious on the road, has been better at home, so it makes some sense. And Joe Kelly has been money road or home, if you lose game 4 with Miller, you've got Waino for 5.

Upset about them going with Lynn, but can live with it, sort of.. but if they put Mujica on the roster I'm just gonna... idk but I won't be happy.

That's messed up. Shelby's numbers are drastically better at home if I remember correctly. Needed him to pitch at home. Don't know if Lynn should pitch at all.

My guess is Kelly who's been fantastic on the road. Like a 2.00 ERA.

Waino gets game 1 and 5. No brainer. Game 4 if it's a must win.

Miller is 1.57 at home and 4.57 on the road. He should be pitching in game 2 at home.

Kelly is 2.09 on the road and 3.29 at HOME. He should get game 3(1st on the road).

Wacha is 2.15 at home and 4.34 on the road. Lynn is 2.82 at home and 5.15 on the road. Start either one in game 3 or 4 and have the other there for long relief.

I guess they feel Miller has a better chance on the road but he's been lights out at home. The other thought, I suppose, is Liriano or Cueto won't go until game 4 I think, so maybe they feel Miller or Kelly is a better matchup against them. Take the chances we outscore them with whoever they throw in game 2.

I'm with anyone that doesn't want Lance to pitch at all, but he is. Obviously they're not comfortable going with Wacha.

You gave Shelby's splits but not Lynn's.

Lance has a 2.82 era at home, and a 5.15 era on the road. Since they won't use Wacha, they must go with Lynn in game 2.

They were up there. Just had him and Wacha in the same sentence because 1 of those 2 is who I would have used in game 4. Miller's numbers aren't very good on the road either, though a bit better than Lynn.

Miller: 1.57 at home
Lynn: 2.82 at home

Miller: 4.57 away
Lynn: 5.17 away

I just would have used Miller at home because it gives you the best opportunity to either go up 2-0 or avoid going down 0-2.

Miller and Lynn at home are pretty close, obviously Millers numbers are better. Which leads me to my point below.

Miller has shown to be the better overall pitcher, especially lately. While Lynn has been beyond atrocious on the road, and he's been overall shaky. Pithcing Lynn on the road would be absolutely foolish, while Miller gives you a legitimate chance to win on the road.

I think it is more of a thought of the playoffs are a completely different animal. Maybe he trusts LL since he has been in the fire before.

I would have gone Waino/miller/Kelly/Lynn. You have wacha coming in early if needed on any starters not named waino

I'd love to see the Cardinals do well this post season, but as a 23 year A&M baseball season ticket holder who moved to Missouri two months ago, my biggest interest is in Wacha.

I wish I knew which game to buy tickets to.

While I wouldn't have started Lynn, or at least not in game 2, I do have to give him credit for having pitched better in his last few starts. He also has some post season experience. Guess Matheny is going to ride that experience and hope it does the job.

I would have started him in game 4 on a short leash with Lynn in the fold if needed. Wacha has way more upside than Lynn but I'm guessing he's seen to have more risk too being a rookie. Personally, I think he has a better mental approach on the mound as a rookie than Lynn. Lynn lets shite get to him.
