I will be attending the spring game with my wife and son to see my (yasir) play some ball. I'm asking my Zoo family for some advice as where to eat and things to do around town , where to stay and what to expect at the game. I need answers. Thanks. #showme17

There are a few "must visit" places in town, including Shakespeare's Pizza, Booches Burgers and Flat Branch Pub & Brewery. Flat Branch is my favorite of the three as they brew their own really good beer, but all three are can't miss. They are all downtown (about a 20 minute walk from the stadium). Other good places downtown are Addison's and Harpos (if you are into the college bar feel).

As for where to stay, there are a few more pricey hotels downtown that are nice if you are willing to fork out a bit more, but there are plenty of places around the Stadium/I-70 exit that have better rates.

Before the game there should be some tailgaters around the stadium (not nearly as many as a normal game day, but enough) and you could definitely crash just about any of them, especially if you drop in that you're Yasir's family. We usually don't get huge crowds to the spring game, but the crowd that does come is pretty into it. Hopefully the weather will be nice and not too rainy.

Hope you guys have a great visit to Columbia!

You'll notice anytime ESPN or SEC network comes to town, they ALL go to Booches.

Places to eat:
Shakespears Pizza. Great pizza. Everybody's pick

Club la Booche (Booche's). It's an old pool/snooker hall that hasn't changed in 70yrs, except for the flat screen TVs. Cold beers, stiff drinks, great burgers and chilli.

Ernie's. That's the place for breakfast. Traditional breakfast, eggs, bacon, ham, toast, coffee. Expect to a waiting line on weekends.

Sub Shop. Use to be North Village Subshop across the street from Ernie's, now near the north end of campus. Their veggie sub is still as good as it was 35yrs ago. Now serving beer too.

Tropical Liquors. You can order a slushy mixed drink to go.

Heidelberg. Near campus, decent food. Could walk thru campus to game to see much of the campus.

Things to do
Les Bourgeois Blufftop Bistro in Rocheport. Have some wine or beer on a bluff over looking the Missouri River.

Rockbridge State Park. Nice nature walk, Devil's Icebox.

Bluenote. It's the small concert venue in town. Saw Dave Mason there many years ago.

Bars: Harpo's, Flat Branch, Shiloh's, Truman's

Breweries/Brewpubs: Broadway, Logboat, Bur Oak, Flat Branch
