Only real takeaways for me are only coaches at blue bloods or taking over for a coach moving up have winning records so far.

The exception is Seth Littrell at North Texas and Fuente at Virginia Tech.

Also remember Frank Wilson. Many were really excited about him a year ago, he hasn’t really taken the next step as a coach.

Barry Odom just hired a new OC this year. Dooley was never an OC in his whole life. I am happy with the way things are right now. Barry said he was looking for a coach that wants to stay at Missouri for a a while to build the program. You cannot keep changing OC every 2 or 3 years without having anyone ready to take over the duty from one of the current coaching staffs. That is the best way to do it. Why Barry did not do it last time because Heupel kept things mostly to himself. Now Barry said he will make sure he find one that would want to stay to build the program and work together as a team. Dooley should be a lot better next year and then the following year after. Also Dooley is a much better recruiter than Heupel. Heupel did not like to recruits and that is why Missouri was stalling on offense. Dooley is the real deal. Got to get the experiences first and learn the system and work as a team and get a brand for the offense. That will bring in better recruits. I understand that Barry Odom should have gotten a head coach job at a lower tier like Memphis to get the experiences first. But it is too late to make the change at head coach and let give Barry Odom a chance. I really do think he will be better than Gary Pinkel because he is bringing in pretty good coaches to his current staffs. Look at Frost at Nebraska! He is so bad right now. What I am seeing is he is just like Barry Odom but with an already experience at being a head coach. at a lower tier. Might take 3 years to show improvement. Barry made some mistakes but he is correcting them as he is coaching the team. Give him 2 more years and I know he is in his 3rd year but that OC was the problem and now he found someone better and is a lot better recruiter. The coaches need time to gell and get to work together for 3 years before showing big steps in the right direction.

When I saw the headline, I thought he might be teaching a coaching class. Scant attendance for sure.
