Oooh! Maybe some of his behavior was in an effort to help support the family. They expected him to go pro and have plenty of cash, but he doubts his ability to succeed and turns to other means... He cracks under the pressure. Setting the stage for the adoring girlfriend and teammates to build him up and return triumphant. Yes? No?
This is awful. I do feel for the kid, but he's his own worst enemy and this whole story is a soap opera.
