Thanks for the access all look forward to our collective Tigers kicking some booty this year.
Welcome! And I hope you're right! How do you feel about Mahlzan coming back? It seemed initially like some were for it, and some were luke-warm....

Honestly I was kind of meh on the hire. I like Gus but I was afraid he would keep Trooper and Looper and that would piss me off.Since he came in and cleaned house top to bottom even the strength coach was let go I got excited.I still have a wait and see attitude.Do you think Pinkel took the change too lightly?

No, I don't think he took it too lightly, but he was distracted by some off-field issues last year (his divorce and affair) and it showed. Plus, 7 of our best 10 OL missed time with injuries last season, multiple games. Combine that with a QB who was more injured than they wanted to admit and missing our best RB - and there's the story.
They knew it was going to be a tough transition, but we were SO decimated with injuries it was a mess. The Big 12 is more of a finesse league, and we competed well there. Our skill guys weren't the problem. But the SEC is a line of scrimmage league, and we didn't have the depth there to offset the injuries.
This year, our OL is bigger - about 15-20 lbs bigger on average per OL. Our DL is going to be a little bigger too, but we're still in a 4-3.
Our new OC is also changing things up a little. We're definitely still a spread team, but he's adding some power running. The running plays will be more vertical than lateral, and there will be fewer 5 WR sets with an empty backfield.
Pinkel also knows this is a do or die year for him, after last years issues, both on the field and off. We'll see, I suppose.

Cool I am glad Mizzou is in the league. My wife is a Vols fan and she wanted a Mizzou shirt. The east is so unbalanced and adding y'all was the perfect fit. Here's too a better second year.

Me too! Best possible outcome for us, IMO.

I have a lot of Vol fans in my family!
It still seems a little surreal to be in the SEC, and not have any teams that I hate. Yet. I'm sure that'll come in time.

Frankly, I was thinking the same thing. No one uses the roll call or Tiger stories anymore. I wouldn't mind taking the sticky off of those 2 at all.

Yeah you'll learn to despise a few and it won't even be the team as much as the arrogant fans.
