Heard it on the radio just now too. Was hanging onto hope he'd return but I wish him the absolute best. Hopefully he gets drafted and makes a team somewhere.

Yeah, I was hoping there might be more reasons for him to stay than go, but I guess not.
Speaking strictly from my Tiger perspective, he was the one player I wanted on the field when the chips were down. You could replace Franklin with Mauk, interchange the WRs, interchange the defenders... but when the game was on the line, you always knew Henry Josey would come through.
His leadership and clutch performances was vitally needed for 2014 and will be desperately missed, but I don't blame him one bit for leaving. The shelf life for an RB is short and coming off of this great season, he's draft stock will never be higher. Hopefully he gets drafted and carves out a lengthy career himself in the NFL.
Nothing but the best for he and his family. And as they say, Thanks 4 The Memories.

I think the "personality" of the team may be drastically different next year. Going from Franklin and Josey personalities leading the way to Mauk and DGB. Not saying good or bad, but I would guess it will be different.

His reasoning is a bit premature I think. If he can't survive 1 more season in College how the hell does he expect to survive in the NFL where knee injuries are sky rocketing?

Without sounding too much like our long lost friend Sleeping Tiger, I think the leadership void is going to be too much to overcome in 2014. I never really considered Franklin a leader, but without Washington, Copeland, Wilson, Ealy, Gaines, Sam, etc. - and now Josey... It's just too much.
Mauk and DGB will be dynamite, but unless Mauk is another Manning or Farve, I fear for our chances to be serious contenders in the East. And do I hope I'm wrong on that. It just feels like 8-5 without Josey to lead the running back corps.

But he will have gotten paid by then and realized his dream of playing in the NFL. My concern is that he seems to be disregarding the advice he was given that he is projected to be a 4th round OR LATER pick meaning he may be later or not drafted at all but he seems to think he will improve his stock and will actually fall somewhere earlier than the 4th round.

Give the guy a break.
He woke up every morning for over a year not knowing if he will ever play football again.
He's earned the right to chase his dream, drafted or undrafted.

No doubt man. If it were me I'd be gone and probably not with as much class. I just hope he's getting good advice and listening to it.

Guy already had 4 years of college. Can't fault him for going. I think he makes a roster somewhere. He's a gamer and still showed this year he has a ton of speed. Hopefully he has a good career. One of my favorite Tigers.

He's not going to get paid nearly has much as an undrafted FA versus coming back and playing a full year and showing he can stay healthy. Imagine if the guy rushed for anywhere close to what he was doing in 2011, he'd a big a 2nd round pick at the worst.

Maybe. But he has good advisors and needed to make a decision.
I wish him luck.
