Yes he is transferring

Wow. Where is he transferring to? And won't that be a huge blow to our depth?
Should we be worried about the way Haith is running the program? This makes what, 3 or 4 kids that have transferred? Are we not evaluating talent on the front end, or somehow failing to bring them along once we get them here?

I think this is just the reality of college basketball now.
Not playing enough? Xfer to a team that will give you the mins.
The game has really collapsed within itself in the last decade.

I thought from the beginning that the 2012 recruiting class was going to be a failure, none of the players have met any expectations, and people need to remember that Haith didn't get to start recruiting until late in the signing period so basically he had slim pickings to choose from. I do think we can develop players who fit the system, and it seemed these players didn't. Alex Oriaki is a great example of development from the time he arrived on campus he was mainly a rebounder with little scoring, and evolved into a post presence for last years team. On the other side we have Phil Pressy who was an example of failing to develop a player.

Good points, MS2. I know Haith didn't get much of a jump on recruiting when he came in. He took what he could get. And I like the 2 we got this year, but 2 isn't nearly enough. Now with Jank transferring, our roster will be thin.
I do like how he developed AO, though. Maybe we can pick up a transfer, but that won't help things this year.

Nothing to worry about here semotruman, IMO. Haith and Fuller have recruited very well since arriving. The fact that Jank is transferring because he doesn't see much playing time in his future must mean we have better players both in front and behind him. Honestly, Jank wouldn't even be on this team if Haith hadn't been forced to recruit at a disadvantage that first recruiting cycle.
This will hurt depth this year, but this was never going to be Missouri's best basketball season anyway.
Plus, Zach Price.

I'm still mostly in football mode. Zach Price? Refresh me.... Is he the juco we're hoping to get?

2014-2015 Outlook
The Tigers from Missouri will have West Clark and JW3 entering their second season. They will be joined by top 150 freshmen Gant and Wright and transfers Deuce Bello and Zach Price (Both are top 100 players from their recruiting class). Jordan Clarkson, Jabari Brown, and Keanau Post may each stay for their senior years.
In addition, I expect another strong recruiting class from Haith.
2013-2014 and possibly even 2014-2015 may not be set up for the level of success I wanted from this team, but I think we're well on our way to success and I think Haith has done as well a job as he could righting the ship after suitcase Mike left.

Zach Price is a 6-10, 250-lb F transfer from Louisville that will begin playing for the Tigers next season after sitting this one out. He played (although not as many minutes as he would have liked) on the national championship team.

Bit disappointed with this. I don't think it hurts Mizzou much. Jank simply wasn't getting and wasn't going to get much in the form of minutes. Only disappointment comes in the fact I thought Jank had enough god given attributes that could have made him a heck of a player. Unfortunately, it just never came out for whatever reason.

The more I look at it, the more I think we need the room anyways next year. If no one leaves, next years team can be special, especially if Clark continues to improve.
PG: Clark/Rector
SG: Brown/Clarkson/Bello/Wright
F: JW3/Gant/Feldman
C: Post/Price/Rosburg/Jones
There are no minutes in that group for Jank.
That's 6'11", 6'10", 6'10" and a beast of 6'8" underneath.

Plus 6'9" and 6'8" with JW3 and Gant. Some serious height.

So this gives us another scholarship to someone like that juco josh gray kid right?
Posted on 11/22/13 at 6:36 pm to ZouDerrty
Only Rosburg left in his class. I'd imagine he'll find a transfer to slide into Rosburg's class. I suppose the Gray kid would come in as a junior just as Rosburg will be a junior.

Haith had problems with the NCAA hanging over his head. The best scouting report on Jank was that he looks the same as he did last year as a freshman. I don't know the inner workings of Haith and the team but I can only draw two conclusions. Haith told Jank he should think about transferring or Jank decided to Transfer when faced with some adversity.

juco Josh Gray signed with LSU by the way.

Ok, let move away from that term and discussion.
