I thought I seen somewhere you were outspoken about animal abuse.....I just assumed or linked it to hunting also.

Oh, I can't stand to watch those commercials with abused animals in them, they make me cry. And I don't personally hunt. But, I grew up around it. It's cool.

You talking about those with the "wings of an angel" song playing? I have to turn the channel when those come on. Who ever made those is a commercial genius!

Same for me, Semo. Having grown up a country girl, I was exposed to man's dominance in the food chain. We ate frog legs, pheasant, rabbit and cow brains, tongue, liver and mountain oysters, along with the normal beef cuts. My dad was soft hearted when it came to deer.

Every year when the cattle were sent to market, one was sent to the butcher and packaged for our personal consumption. The brains, tongue, liver and heart were delivered back fresh, and my mom would divide it up, freezing some. After seeing these various organs in our refrigerator, we kids were not so eager to consume it. My mom tried various tricks to deceive us. Once I caught her using brain for the meat in spaghetti. She swore me to secrecy, more like threatened me, but I didn't spill the beans. That evening, the family all declared how great the spaghetti was. I was the only one who ate less than usual.
