Odom’s recruiting isn’t much different than the what Pinkel did. Pinkel’s breakthrough teams were ranked in the 40’s. The key is that Pinkel usually developed really well.

That’s why I’m really watching DB, DE and WR as the season goes on. Those are the position groups that have struggled the most, especially during the losing streak. Those are also groups getting a lot of their snaps from underclassmen. Hilton and Anderson are the only seniors that played against Alabama and SC.

How many starters have been recruited by Odom? I haven't added them up but it looks like he's playing mostly Pinkel's players. We won't know until next season and especially the season after that where we stand with Odom but it looks dark

24 of 44 rotation players were recruited by Odom, that’s 30 of 44 if count the 2016 hybrid class that never played for Pinkel.
By position group it’s
QB-Pinkel
RB-All Odom
OL- 3 of 5 Odom
WR- 2 of 3 Odom (that changes when Hall gets back)
TE-1 of 2 Odom
DE- all Odom
DT- 3 of 4 Odom
LB - 1 of 3 Odom
DB- 3 of 4 Odom

Based on Morrison’s snap counts the sophomore class is the class getting the most snaps on defense of any class. Not all will get better but if a majority continue to improve then there should be hope for the defense next season and beyond.

So you're counting 2016 Pinkel recruits as Odom recruits?

If so he's had 3 years of recruiting and is still putting a dogshit defense on the field.

No I split out the recruits to committed to Pinkel but never players for him.

Simms, Crockett, and Garrett were offered by Odom.
Holmes, Acy, Williams and Castillo were offered and committed to Pinkel’s staff.
I’m probably missing a couple people.

I don’t really think the coach that recruited them matters.
More important is experience and does it matter. Also do those players getting experience have enough upside to improve with experience?

Why is the offense good? It has talent, but also experienced talent. LB is the only defensive position group that won’t have lots of experience next season. Depending on how the play the rest of the year we will find out if there’s talent at DE and DB.
