Sounds like you and Kilgore are hearing similar things.

Apparently there is a big splash plan A and a plan B that will make people happy. Neither is Odom. Kilgore says Odom will be named coach at Memphis either today or tomorrow.

Looks like Rhule is no longer in the running. No surprise.

I surely hope those talking about this are not considering Richt a "big splash".

Richt would be a HUGE splash for Mizzou and you're crazy if you think he wouldn't.

Never in a million years thought I would agree with you,but I agree Richt would be a big splash hire.

Meh, he'd be a "splash" I guess. Although, he was just fired 1 week ago. Kind of hard to be too splashy in that case.

I'm much more concerned with wins than "splash" though.

Look at his winning percentage, top 15 finishes, bowl wins, and conference championships and compare those numbers to Gary Pinkel.

Considering what Black Lives Matter has done to Mizzou's reputation and image...I'd say that Richt is certainly an incredible big splash hire if that happens.

It's easier to win at UGA than Mizzou. He's right outside of 1 of the richest recruiting cities, & he didn't take over the pile of trash that was what Mizzou was in 2000

Not to mention.

Just listen to him talk. How worn out he is. How 33 straight years has grinded on him. His results started waning and he seems to have lost the necessary fire.

I've changed my mind. I wouldn't touch him with a 10 ft pole. He'd be a disaster imo.

Richt can't recruit at Mizzou. He's too used to getting it handed to him at GA, he'd never be able to scramble for it the way he'd have to here. And he's not a good cultural fit. He'd suspend half the team in the first week. None of which matters cause he aint coming here

That is the key to where Richt is going to go to. Missouri, Maryland, Memphis, Syracuse, and etc there is no pressure to win a national championship. He will not have the daily grind of the best coach never to win a championship.

Missouri has gotten close with GP. I think Richt wants to go to somewhere where he has a chance to win it all but not the pressure to do it. That is the University of Missouri.

I'm hearing a lot of chatter. Apparently a rival group is going to rise up. It's called 'It's ok, shoot us in the back, just give us a good football coach'.

Please keep this on the down low

Or he wants to go to a place, collect another 10-15 million. If he wins that's ok, and if he doesn't that's ok too because he has no skin in the game.

frick that.

If this doesn't sound like a guy with the fire, passion and "want to" to deliver us a title then I don't know who does

quote:

“We’ll probably get to do some things we just haven’t been able to do in the past,” Richt said of him and Katharyn. “I’ve been coaching for 33 years straight, and that’s a long grind. It can wear a man out a little bit, especially sitting in the head coach’s chair. We’re very excited about our future. It very well may be that we stay in Athens. We may stay in Athens for good. I don’t know what’ll happen yet.”
