I'm looking to expand my horizons on the bar scene here. Honestly haven't been out much since I moved up here. What are some places y'all would recommend? I'm post grad, and would prefer something more chill than most college bars. I've been to Harpos, enjoyed it, but am looking for other places.

I like Flat Branch for a little more relaxed atmosphere

I recommend Murray's if you are 30 years or older, and if you like jazz. Flat Branch would have been my first pick but it's already been mentioned.

The Roof is also good, but it's too crowded on weekends, also a mix of young and old (mostly alumni).

I have eaten Flat Branch, great place. Don't know why I haven't thought about it for drinks.

What’s your taste?

When I was in undergrad, I enjoyed a bit of a classier experience by going to the speakeasy. (The Vault in the basement of Tiger Hotel).

Some good mixed drinks. Drank a lot of ginger bourbon lemonades there.

Flat Branch is a nice place.

We hit up McNally's when were are in town as that was our usual spot.

I typically prefer just to go out and get a couple nice mixed drinks when I go out to the bar. The Vault sounds pretty cool, I'll definitely have to check that out.

Murray's is a good choice. You could try Barred Owl and/or Flyover for slightly more upscale, Uprise for pseudo art crowd, some of the southside bars for a more local crowd like 1839 taphouse, Shiloh for sports.

But to be honest, your not going to find a great scene once you are older than 25

The Penguin(Piano bar), and The roof when it gets warm.
