So, before you get it twisted and cast aspersions on MY FANDOM, I suggest you take the time to look back at the big picture and come back at me with objective verifiable data that would refute my rationale of "more objective reasonable expectations"

This poster is right Jesus. As I recall, you are much younger than us middle aged guys, which is good, Mizzou needs more of this present generations support. Give it another 10 to 15 years of getting kicked in your Mizzou nuts and you will understand this alot better. With that being said, obviously I just want to hire the right guy for the program whether he is a big name or an up and comer. Just restore some freaking pride and dignity to the program.

I'm not disparaging anyone's fandom.

Simply put, there is a large contingent of Mizzou fans who are always waiting for the next shoe to drop. I mean, if that's how you want to roll then so be it, but Mizzou isn't cursed or doomed or any of that shite.

If we don't get Crean, then so be it. Sterk will make a quality hire. This IS a very good job. We WILL pay market value.

Maybe because we have experienced many times that next shoe to drop. That's not so much being pessimistic, or feeling we are doomed, it's just reality for the most part. You will experience this yourself as time goes by, unless somehow Mizzou gets on some 30 year roll and we all can enjoy some long lasting good times and success. At this time, we have only experienced spurts of it. I do like Sterk though and am encouraged and excited to see who the next coach is.

The problem with firing Crean is roughly the same problem with firing Les Miles. Yeah, you're not beating your conference rivals every year. But who do you get that's markedly better?

There's few coaches who have already proven to be better than Crean in the long haul. And almost none of those are available. That list of coaches was scary. Donovan? Not likely. Marshall? Slightly more likely. And then it's slim pickings. Indiana can't hire a Keatts or a McCall.
