I think many of you have lost sight of the larger picture. The inexorable march of expansion is to go to sixteen team conferences. The Big XII is trying to maintain relevance. With only ten teams it is the conference likely to be dismantled at the next round of conference expansion. The PAC 12 will need four teams. They are likely to come from the Big XII. Likely Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech and likely but not certain Oklahoma State.
The longhorn network issues will need to be worked out which isn't likely but ESPN will help negotiate this. Kansas will likely be forced to the B1G. K-State, Baylor, TCU and Iowa State would be relegated to almost no status at all.
While West Virginia would be an orphan too they might find a home in the ACC. I say this as
the SEC still has its sights (and hopes)on a North Carolina team.
Oklahoma is the random in this scenario as they have expressed interest in the SEC.
If Mizzou were to ever jump conferences that would be the ideal time. However, I don't see Mizzou ever leaving the SEC.

The LSU-Mizzou game is homecoming at LSU. A night game.
Tough to beat LSU in a night game.

I know that. But somehow Arkansas figured out a way to do it.

You beat LSU by walking up and punching them in the mouth. For a physical, hard hitting, team they don't like to get hit and if you manage to stuff their run game they haven't had an answer the last couple of years from the QB position.

You're right. But OL and running game are big question marks right now.

That is going to be a problem this year probably. Odom does seem devoted to shoring up the OL and using the run more often but it might take a couple of years of recruiting to get the team where he wants it.
The good news is that your defense should be very solid this year and has a decent chance of slowing or outright stopping the LSU rushing attack. Arkansas was the hottest offense in the country at the end of the season (4 of our last 6 games we scored more then 50 points) and Mizzou held the Hogs to 28.
