PASSING OFFENSE
At QB, Knighten, a returning senior starter, was 8/23 for 86 yards against USC. Last year, he threw for over 3200 yards with a rating of 141.1. Like Mizzou, they had a freshman who had a few series and was actually more effective, going 7/11 for 95 yards.
Their leading WR from last year also led the way last week against USC. Tres Houston had 2 receptions for 54 yards. Overall, their top 6 WR's from last season were their top 6 WR's against USC, though none had more than 700 yards last year.
Bottom line...ASU returns a lot of their production in the passing game from last year. In fact, all of it arguably. But bottom line also says that the strength of the Mizzou defense should be able to do as well or better than USC did, holding ASU to under 200 yards passing.
RUSHING OFFENSE
ASU returns their top 2 rushers from last year, senior Michael Gordon and the senior QB Knighten. They also apparently added a decent freshman, Ward, who ran 10 times for 52 yards against USC. Each of the 3 ran for in the 50's in yardage against USC.
Again, call me a homer, but I think this DLine is better than USC's. The dual threat QB concerns me a bit, but I think we will contain the RB's themselves.
Overall, ASU returns a ton of their starters at the skill position, but these guys just shouldn't even be on the same field as Mizzou. They managed 1 TD against USC and shouldn't get any more than that against Mizzou.

Blake Anderson says he's good friend with Mizzou WR coach Pat Washington. They coached together at Southern Miss
So apparently doing more favors for more friends. At the expense of Mizzou fans and another home game.

Anderson on Missouri: "Huge challenge for us. There will be very few matchups we win head to head."
Coach speak but should be true.

I tried to glean some info while watching them play USC, but they were so over matched I turned it off halfway into the second quarter.
They couldn't get anything together.
Hopefully GP breaks out some offensive plays so we can get a better idea of what we have.
Our D will overwhelm them.

If their DL is just 5% better than semo, it's going to be a ball tugger

If Ricker doesn't get the OL going, it's going to be a tough year. I believe he will.
