Softball improves to 18-7 by beating Indiana State twice but have got to start winning some conferences series. 2-4 so far in conference. Finucane gave up 2 in 7 innings on 4 hits and had 9 K's to go with it. Stangel gave up 0 runs on 2 hits but struck out none in 7 innings. Really young team with a bright future. Would love to see them start getting over the hump in conference now, though the SEC is absolutely stacked.
Baseball stayed above .500 with 2 wins over Milwaukee and stand at 11-9. The biggest question for me is where is Alec Rash. Rash was the highest drafted player that chose to go to college. He was a 2nd round draft pick. He's now in his sophomore year and so far this year he has pitched 1.1 innings with a 0.00 ERA. He pitched 1 inning against Radford and struck out 2. He then pitched 1/3 of an inning with that out being a strikeout against Campbell. 1.1 innings = 4 outs. 3 of those have been strikeouts. Yet, he hasn't pitched since 2/26. Is he hurt? Is he in the doghouse? Is he not as good as the Phillies thought when drafting him in the 2nd round? If any of you baseball fans out there have any idea, please share. I can't figure it out and these midweek games would be a great opportunity to get some innings in. We used 8 pitchers in these 2 games, but Rash wasn't one of them.

My pleasure. For whatever it's worth, softball beat Ball State yesterday 11-3 and North Dakota State 11-2 today. Currently losing 1-0 after 1 inning in the second of a mixed double header today. Play UMKC tomorrow.
Baseball had a tough setback yesterday before the game even started. Graves (whose been OUTSTANDING this year) was slated to started but took an errant throw in the infield during warm ups to the ear and Miles got thrown into the start minutes before the game. Tough situation to deal with but fought Ole Miss (#14 in the nation) tough but lost 4-3. Not so pretty today, losing 7-1 BUT another Rash siting.
Yes, that 2nd round draft pick that hasn't been heard from all season. Pitched 1 inning and gave up no runs on no hits and no walks. ERA remains 0.00 but apparently he still isn't good enough to pitch regularly according to a Columbia Tribune article Friday.

Baseball finished the weekend getting swept by Ole Miss. Actually had the lead, 3-2 lead going into the bottom of the 8th when our designated closer, Steele, gave up 6 to lose 8-3. Uncharacteristic of Steele.
Softball finished the weekend by throttling UMCK 14-0.
