Two @SEC notes on our field: @LSUbaseball is very close and could easily go in as a top eight, @MizzouBaseball on deck as a host site.

Now that would be unreal and I would buy tickets and go.

Any updates on Bond? Like will he be out at all?

Well the bats really came alive after dropping the first game to Tennessee.

Congrats Tigers! Way to answer the bell after that first loss.

When was the last time Missouri hosted a regional?

Um, ok. Are we like, sitting in the middle of baseball heaven right now or what? NUMBER 18 Mizzou starting to get hot, the Royals red hot and the Cards at a respectable .500 and probably on their way to the top.
It's like a party or somethin.

UT player slid hard into his leg on Thursday. High ankle sprain, he should be out at least week. Klages filled in admirably.

Thanks Astro. I did see the line score on Klages. Good to see him step right in. Another good weekend for the boys. Winning a series on the road is always a good thing no matter who it's against.
Gotta tell ya. I'm looking at this remaining schedule and well I'm not gonna say it. That mojo and stuff.
Any chance the former high school team mates come back at the same time? Klages and Benes? Could be a little shot in the arm to carry through the tough finish to the SEC schedule/tournament.

Another winnable series this weekend. Bama is 18-16 (6-9) on the season. Their SEC series this year:
@MSU 2-1
A&M 1-2
@UF 1-2
LSU 0-3
UGA 2-1
Weekend starters are apt to giving up runs. I think the best ERA of the starters is still over 3.00.

As of last week, Tex said Benes should be medically cleared to play some time this week. Now whether that means he will see the field is a different story.

They have a good offense, but terrible pitching. That seems to match up with our strengths pretty well.

I would be a little surprised, though happily so, if he puts a glove on in a game this soon. Plus, the left side has been playing pretty strong defensively all season.
I think realistically, maybe a pinch hitting situation or two. And that's if he sees any action at all. Like you said, only time will tell.

The first team I thought of was UF, just not as good of bats and worse pitching. But the same type of strengths/weaknesses.

If he plays this year it will almost certainly be as a DH. Unless he has had some work in the past in the outfield.
He may get some infield time in midweek games, but if he has an impact it will be at the plate.

No question. The bats have been night and day different than the last couple of years, particularly in timely situations, but if there was one area that could use a little jolt, I still think it's with the offense. And just one more bat seems like it could make a huge difference. Of course, I'm assuming a lot, like he's even healthy, he's even been swinging and that his bat can be effective against high D1 pitchers.
I just like the thought of:
Peel 2b
Ring CF
Howard SS
Lester 3b
Bond C
Benes DH
Lavy 1B
Harris LF
Munson/Pearson/Ivory
Of course some of those names can be moved around a bit, but now there's really only 1 spot in th order that you feel is a little bit of a hole. Klages could fill that role too when Bond comes back even if Benes isn't ready. I'd like to see him given a shot at DH after the weekend he had.
