Those Bama teams didn’t have Tua though. He’s far superior to Coker and Sims and Hurts during those shootouts.
We have to score first and score every time they score or it’s over. Go down 14 to Tua at any point without a TO and it’s ballgame whether that two TD lead occurs in the first or the fourth.

That was a different Bama. This team is not QB challenged like those past teams. This team doesn’t want to line up and pound the ball. They want to throw it all over the field.
This is the best offense in the country and it’s not particularly close.
Like I said, it probably makes no difference but we have absolutely zero opportunity to “outscore” them in an up and down game. Especially with both starting WR still hobbled.
Their weakness, if you can call it that, has been defending the run and the TE Pass game.which lines up with our actual strengths.
What we have on offense is 3 good backs, a solid OL, a couple of matchup problems at TE, a struggling QB and an injury ravaged WR corps. That doesn’t look like a team that can be even competitive with maybe the best passing offense of all time.
BUT when you look at their defense and realize they are merely avg against the run and have had trouble covering TEs it’s almost too obvious.
Sadly though, I’m sure we will come out running pace on offense, trying to chuck it around on the outside and end up down 40 by halftime.
Hope not, but that’s what I expect.
