I went to a Mizzou football game in Columbia for the first time in several years last weekend. I had some pretty sweet seats on the alumni side. I was EXTREMELY disappointed by the fans on that side of the stadium. I couldn't get people to get off of their butts and cheer. I felt like my group was the only one yelling Z O U the whole time. Disappointed in our fellow alumni.

Blame it on the STL alumni. We have a bad habit of sitting and just watching. We don't believe in cheering. True statement. Doubt it? Go to a Cards or Rams game. They actually had a segment on the radio with a Rams guy letting people know there is no rule against standing up during a game, like they were trying to get people to do it.

Why would anyone stand up at a Rams game?

The only reason I could see someone getting up is to piss or get a beer.

Or leave.

The first quarter was probably enough to knock most of the excitement of a new season out of most fans. I'm not surprised it was quiet.
