TigerNick,

When your testicles finally drop, when you develop hair on your chest and upper lip, and when you finally graduate and move away from Columbia to participate in the real world...talk to me then about whether or not you still get excited for an NIT game.

But seriously, thanks for supporting the team.

You do realize it was an NIT hosted game, not Mizzou, right? Mizzou can't treat it like a home game.

But, but, the music and the player introductions... They're the whole reason I go to the games. Well, that and the halftime show of course. Did Mike Alden even try to get an exemption from these draconian sanctions? And on top of that, why didn't he have more concession stands open for the 7 fans that attended? I expect at least a 1:1 fan to concession stand ratio. You know, or else the lines get too long.

In a lot of ways I have to agree with what Kim English has said about Mizzou lately. A large majority are fair weather fans. When things are going great everything is perfect, but the slightest deviation from perfect, and we just give up on our coaches, athletes, the program in general. We came out with pitch forks when Gary Pinkel struggled in his first season in the SEC after all the work he did to build the program. Haith has 76 wins in his first three seasons which is more than Norm , and he has a rebuilding season. Did anyone honestly expect to make the tournament this year with the front court we had. If we did make the final 68 it would have been another first round loss anyway. Is that better than winning a game (s) in the NIT, and letting the players get more development so that they're ready for next season. Haith is the coach here @ Mizzou, and for the fair weather fans that's not about to change in the next 1 to possibly 3 years. DWI

You understand that Haith went to the tournament 1 time in 8 years at Miami right? So the answer is no, I didn't expect any Haith recruited team to do anything based on his history. He got to play with Suitcase's players and couldn't even win a game in the NCAAs. Dude sucks.

2004–2005 Frank Haith 16–13 7–9 T–6th NIT
2005–2006 Frank Haith 18–16 7–9 T–7th NIT Quarterfinals
2006–2007 Frank Haith 12–20 4–12 12th
2007–2008 Frank Haith 23–11 8–8 T–5th NCAA
2008–2009 Frank Haith 19–13 7–9 T–7th NIT
2009–2010 Frank Haith 20–13 4–12 12th
2010–2011 Frank Haith 21–15 6–10 9th NIT

Frank Haith: 129–101 43–69

So he went 43-69 in the ACC and has gone 20-16 in the SEC... I think you better get used to being in the NIT friend. If you want Haith, his track record says this is what you will get.

Oh, and I hope you like sweets because Haith (as his conference records show) loves to munch on dem cupcakes!

Did we ever schedule non-conference teams the caliber of UCLA, NCST, the answer is no. Haith schedules difficult non-conference teams, and wins his fair share of them. Haith also gets Mizzou in the best tournaments to start the season (Mizzou will be playing in Maui next season, and has already played in Battle 4 Atlantis, and Las Vegas Invitational) The only conference games we weren't competitive in this season was @Georgia, and @ UT, all the others we had a chance to win the game with the worst front court in the nation. Also didn't Hait beat nearly the same UF team @ home in 2012-13, and nearly beat Kentucky and UCLA on the road.

Ahhhh I am glad you went to the game good sir. But you going to game and being a great fan doesn't change the fact that Haith blows as a coach. I hope I am wrong and if Haith takes us to a Final Four I will seek you out and buy you a non soggy arse pretzel and a couple of beers.

So, a student who lives on or near campus is complaining about Mizzou fans not packing up the car and driving across state to see Mizzou perform terribly against Davidson in an NIT "challenge"?

That's rich!!!

But I will award you points for being a decent troll.

Midterms this week, but 47 of us made it

The same frickers who complain about the team, are the ones who wait, and show up when we're good again (i.e. last football season) , than will disappear into solitude again.

It seems Mizzou fans have the team they deserve.

"Hey hun!!! Get dressed! We're taking a little trip tonight!"

"Where are we going? Are you taking me to dinner?!!!"

"No...we're driving 3 hours to Columbia to watch Mizzou play Davidson in an NIT game!"

"Who's Davidson?"

"They're a mid major team."

"What's a mid major?"

"A mid major is typically a smaller school from a crappy conference."

"What's the NIT?"

"The NIT is a tournament that invites underperforming teams to play each other as a consolation prize for not making the real tournament. It's college basketball's way of awarding losers."

"Ugh...tell me again why you want to travel to Columbia to watch this game? Sounds sort of pointless to me."

"I want to go because we're hardcore fans. We support Mizzou basketball no matter the circumstances - good and bad. Plus, we'll just buy the cheapest tickets possible and then seat ourselves close to the court because there may be 500 people at the game, tops! Hell, we may even have front row seats!!!"

"So let me see if I understand you correctly...you want me to ride in the car for a total of six hours to watch a game between two underperforming teams that no one cares about?"

"Yes."

"Hahahahahaha...well, feel free to go but don't expect me to join you. I plan to watch Housewives of Orange County tonight and do my nails. Have fun, hardcore fan. Hahahahahaha."

"So, seriously, you don't want to go with me? I thought you liked Mizzou as much as myself."

"I do like Mizzou, but I'm not traveling 3 hours there and 3 hours back to watch two crappy teams play. If that makes me less of a fan then so be it! And, something else to consider...if you'd like to have sex with me tonight, I suggest you stay home tonight."

"Okay, hun. I'll be in the family room watching ESPN."

"Good. I'm happy you're staying home tonight, babe. LOVE YOU!!!"

If I was a student and could walk over there and pay $0 and set in the first few rows I probably would have. But out of 30k like 500 of them did that.

Mike Alden: Unfortunately we didn't see the progress in the program, and so we've decided to move in a new direction with our men's basketball program. We are in the process of hiring a search firm to seek out the best possible candidates. Mizzou would like to thank Frank for his efforts, and wish him the best in future endeavors

Closet Mizzou Fans: Yes! Frank Haith is gone, I told you Alden you were an idiot for hiring him 4 years ago. Wait, my god Alden is in charge of another basketball hire, how could things possibly get any better?

Mike Alden: It is my honor to introduce you to the new men's basketball coach here at the University of Missouriuh, please welcome Brian Wardle!

Closet Mizzou fans: Who the frick is this? I don't even know how he is a candidate for the job with our rich history for our men's basketball program.

Brian Wardle: MIZ ZOU! MIZ ZOU MIZ ZOU! I just want to start off by saying I have always had a lot of respect for the Mizzou men's basketball program.

Closet Mizzou fans: Stop sucking my dick, You don't deserve this job! frick you Mike Alden!

Brian Wardle: We will compete for championships here in the SEC. ....

Few months later....

Mike Alden: We did a thorough review during the hiring process, and no red flags came up. We had no knowledge of player mistreatment by Brian whatsoever, and we will be conducting a full investigation into these allegations.

Closet Mizzou Fans: frick we're back at square one.

My points:

Even if we hired a new coach, it's not going to be somebody on our radar, and most likely is going to be someone up shite's creek without a paddle who won't do anything better than Haith is currently doing. Alden ego won't allow him to invest in a worthy coach, and he will want to prove to everyone he can find a diamond in the rough coach who nobody has ever heard of. Alden is too stupid to realize this isn't like recruiting were diamond in the roughs usually work. Alden will never fully invest in a quality basketball coach ever so we will be repeating cycle after cycle of this process.

No as I have reverted to you in previous posts Haith has made Mizzou a national brand on the recruiting trail. We're getting players from Arizona, New York, Georgia, California, Michigan, Missouri. We never had that here @ Mizzou with any coach in our history a coach who can recruit the entire country, and get top 5 recruits to visit Mizzou. I also don't believe Haith has had time to truly implement his system yet. His first year he played a 4 guard lineup, second year had a post game and utilized it, but lacked quality guard play, this year no post play so he ran a lot of iso offense.
