I would love to see the day when Mizzou fans can show school spirit in similar or greater fashion. I'll probably be bashed for my opinion, but it's worth the risk.

My very first impression of Mizzou was that its a racist place that dont like STL kids. Then I met Will AJ and Barry for myself and we talked about everything under the sun. Now I see em in a totally different light and believe they especially Will would do right by my son

Why would anybody think that BO was racist when most of his staff is African American. There are issues in Columbia(Boone County) and other campuses, also.

Nobody is going to disagree with you that our fanbase is extremely weak. Hell, a lot of posters on this board think it's cool to make sure everyone knows how much they don't care about football. A lot of our fans don't like Odom. I'm not sure why, but there is a legitimate dislike from a fairly significant portion.
It is what it is. Win and the bandwagon will fill up a bit and we certainly need the bandwagon types.

Think bigger picture. The players boycotting, the kid who threatened to starve himself, black students were pretty vocal on twitter about this stuff too.

Most of the reasons STL people think Columbia is racist happened 40-50 years ago.

That’s tweet is from the father of a STL target. It’s the power brokers in STL that have been pushing the idea that como is rasist and not the place for young black men.

Most of the problems happened in the 60's,70's and 80's, but it still has legs now. That's not why Mizzou has an identity problem. It all starts with PR. We are the only major university in the state and we can't sell our program.
I'm living in Cali now and here in LA it's all about USC and UCLA. They get more love than the Rams in my opinion even though the PR for the Rams is big time. Even though the population here is a zillion times that of St. Louis and KC put together it's still a majority Latina(Mexican) populace.
All I talk about with people here is Mizzou and they say I"m sorry that you guys haven't won anything and people don't even come to your games, but at least I had them following Mizzou when they won those 2 conference titles in the SEC in football.

Mizzou got rid of the big suits who ignored the problems and have worked on it and now we have moved on. Credit to them for acting. Lets talk football!

That's not to say all of Boone County is racist but I'd bet a majority of the confederate flags you see flying on pick up trucks in the area have no connection to the University.

Think we are in really good shape with Marcus Washington. His Dad seems to really like the staff also.
Hope he jumps on board soon. Could really help jump start the class and cause some waves in the STL area.
