Seriously are the Brewers legit this year or will they regress?

Yes and yes. They are legit. But they won't play all year at that pace so they will "regress" to an extent.

I think they're legit. I've thought so since opening week.

Will they last? Don't know, but they have weapons in the right places.

Also, you can count me in as a illogically confused Holliday hater. Never really have liked the guy. There is zero finesse in anything that guy does. Reason number one ball players should stay the frick out of the weight room. He's just never passed the eye test for me, I don't needs stats and other shite to get in the way of what my gut tells me.

The guys just don't like him. Nothing wrong with that. As fans we can like or dislike anyone we want for good reasons, bad reasons or no reason at all. Might be a bad comparison, but for me Holliday is to the Cardinals what Blaine Gabbert is to Mizzou football. Has decent/solid numbers. But something is just missing. Can't put my finger on it, but something is just off. Having said that, Mizzou could have done a lot worse than Gabbert and the Cardinals could do a lot worse than Holliday. Nothing to back it up, just my personal feelings.

And for the record, I'm no part of any talks of wanting to move Holliday. There are too many other areas right now that need to be addressed.

I remember a clip they showed of Holliday working out in the offseason, this was shown maybe two years ago.

I could not believe what I saw. It looked like it was 1983. The stuff he was doing was just incredibly stupid.

It was the dumbest thing I'd ever seen. (No surprise that he had back problems that whole season).

It's also no surprise that he's a slow starter. Seems like it takes him a couple months to loosen up after working out like a meat wagon all winter.

Guy is a pile of rocks.

That's not a bad comparison, reedus.

And you've got it right, there is just something missing with Holliday. It's hard to put into words because intuition is a mix of so many things.

Yea, I dont have an issue with folks not liking him. Some of the complaints are fairly silly though, just read the comments when folks get to ripping on him. Nothing wrong with asking someone to explain "why" they dont like etc.

The only reason I responded to begin with is when sleepy/mo talked about moving him which I think is a terrible idea because on a line up of little production he wants to remove the only real consistent producer.

I mean, screw that guy and his career .311 average because he is a meat head with no finesse and agility that lifts weights way to much. Amirite!?!

Its a terrible comparison.

Gabbert played two years at Mizzou and couldnt do anything at the NFL level.

I've said about 7 times that it wouldn't be wise to move him this year, but that I wish he was out of the way before the end of 2016.

And what complaints would those be?

He's a awful fielder. Is that silly?

Double play machine. Silly too?

Has been mostly useless in the playoffs. Silly?

Taken off the roster for a World Series game 7 because of a sore pinky. Very silly, right?

Is an absolute rock pile with no personality or leadership.

A number 3, cornerstone offensive player that doesn't hit a lot of home runs, especially nowadays.

These are really silly things, definitely not worthy being in the same conversation as career stats.

Show us Molina's career numbers and that should tell you how relevant career numbers are in the now.

You're so lost it's amusing.

His comparison is just on the level of how something is missing in both of them. Not that they have parallel career paths.

That's why I said what Gabbert is to Mizzou, not what Gabbert is to the Jaguars or to football in general. And yes, only 2 years. Nature of the beast in college athletics. And Gabbert had decent numbers at Mizzou.

And it's not like I was taking a shite on Holliday with that. Gabbert finished top 5 in Mizzou history in passing yards, completion percentage, TD's and rating.

Yea, some of those are silly. The leader thing? Yep. How could you possibly know or be in the club house.

The defense thing is legit but comparatively to other corner outfielders he isnt nearly as bad as you are making it out.

Double play machine. Silly too?

So are many players that hit in the 3/4/5 whole. Hell, last year was the first year he led the NL in that stat. Its convenient that you ignore all the production stats and bring up the DP STAT because it fits your narrative.

Has been mostly useless in the playoffs.

Useless is strong. He has had some bad series as a Cardinal though.

quote:

He hits 25 or so a year. Drives in 100 RBI and has an OPS over 850. Dont know what you want. Miguel Cabrera and Alber Pujols types dont grow on trees man.

So when SoCal talks about him being a rock head and you talk about him not being a leader etc, yea, thats fricking silly man. Its just is. Reedus comparing him to Blaine Gabbert was a hoot as well.

Ok, but I showed you production numbers from LAST frickING YEAR that showed Holliday was more valuable than Beltran offensively and you ignored them.

Holliday is a good player....I would gladly take him. Especially in place of Butler

Meh, Holliday has won an NLCS MVP award. Won a batting title, 5 silver sluggers, won a couple WS rings.

I just dont see the comparison between Gabbert and Holliday.

So would just about every other team in MLB.

Cards fans can be a fickle bunch at times.

What is it, you keep talking about this missing stuff but cant or refuse to explain what that "something" is in the end.
