All good lol sounds like the recruits are having a good time. Ross tweeted how fans were chanting their name every where they went.

Awesome! Welcome, Walter Brady!

And what was with DeSean Blair's tweet last night? I hope there was something more to it than on the surface because it sounded like an insult. "Mizzou not that bad" WTH?

Guys like Delosi and Brady aren't exactly the type of guys I had in mind for finishing off this class.

Kind of weird to get a 2 star DL commit on the same day a former DLmen is named NFL rookie of the year.

These high school Defensive Tackles and Defensive Ends had better start to recognize that Coach K at Mizzou knows how to build NFL careers and start putting Mizzou at the top of their list.

Michael Sam 2*
L'Damian Washington 2*
Sean Weatherspoon 2*
Denario Alexander 2*
Michael Egnew 2*
Justin Britt 2*

All these are 2* players who were overly productive at Mizzou. So yeah it may not look pretty, but I have trust in the staff to develop players.

Yeah, yeah. I know.

Just think coming off a division championship, bowl win, and news of an NFL rookie of the year it would be nice to fill out the last few spots with guys that are a little more likely to be game changers.

Of course then I think it doesn't matter when a recruit commits, as long as they turn out to be good.

The payoff for this year would come in the 2015 class if we have another solid year next year. Start off 4-0 and you will see a lot of interest pick up.

I can understand the notion that the pay-off comes the following year. It makes sense.

But they say these kids live in the now, figured we would be able to use our current status as a way to get some of these late floaters that have decommitted from other schools or have totally reopened their recruiting late in the game.

Also, if the pay-off happens the following year, I'm not a huge fan of taking guys this late that aren't really needed. Delosi looks like he's got potential, but it's another WR.

We are seeing this year that it's not fun running out of scholarships. I'd rather bet on having a good start next year and have more scholarships to give.

Our coaches are good developers of the talent they get, but they are not the greatest of recruiters. It is what it is.

This year's large class will allow the coaches to be specific next year. They can focus all of their energy on the best talent at the positions of most need.

Mizzou scholarships will be hard to get next year. There will be a limited number available. At some level, the rarity of these scholarships will be a selling point. I can imagine a few high school kids getting big heads when they consider that Mizzou, the SEC East champion, is only offering "X" scholarships, and they're getting 1 of them. To be outrageous, it'll be like winning the golden ticket. No doubt, the coaches will be selling this idea.

The only question is, "Will kids buy into it?" I can't answer that, but I sure hope they do.

It would be nice to be filling out this class with 4 star athletes but you just have to trust the staff.

Look at Tavon Ross. A few weeks ago he was rated a 2 star by some sites. Now he has offers from UGA, Bama, Miami, and South Carolina. He might as well be a 4 star.

I guess that is a positive way to look at it. Hope that's the case.

I think I'd still rather have more spots open next year to follow the logic that the pay-off happens a year later.

Well, you have to consider that I'm a bit of an optimist, maybe a bit too optimistic, and I'm expecting each of these 2* recruits to become all-time college greats and 1st round NFL picks.

Speaking of Tavon Ross, any news there? Or any news in general?

I'm guessing Tavon is going to be a mystery until signing day.

I agree with ya 100%. On the other hand, back when I first posted all the visitors I told my brother we'll probably get the 2*'s to commit and will miss on all of the Hendrix and Ford's of the world. So I can't say I'm not surprised. So now it's time I guess for the staff to earn their paychecks and coach them up.

I have faith that the coaching staff can coach anyone up. But I know I actually went back and looked and 2*'s fail at a much higher rate than 4*'s. So while their are exceptions to the rule as you highlighted, I think to get over that next hump and actually win something, I think it's going to have to start with recruiting.

You think so? Right now he's committed to us. If he's not going to keep that commitment, I'd hope he would let the coaches know. Hopefully he'll stay committed.
