Agreed but I remember we felt like that last year, then we were in on a bunch of 4-Stars. The athlete David Perkins popped up that ended up going to Ohio State, but had us favored for a while. Javonte Magee at Baylor Meador who ended up going to Wisc. There was a 4-Star safety who was at TCU, but ended up at TAMU as a WR. Now, they didnt pick us, but we got in late and they all had us in their Top 2-3. I think that happens again. We had a shot to get them but the ball just didnt roll our way. I think a bunch of prospects that we dont know right now pop up at the end again and they do go our way.

I just wish we could've kept Goines and Ifedi.

Ya you're right, and we won't be worrying about a bowl this year so the coaches should be working overtime on getting a top class

I hear Goines was starting for UCLA

Not really recruiting news.
But how nice would it be if we could pursue Gunner Kiel right now... article up about how it looks like the guy they have committed for next year fits with the RS FR they have running their offense right now.
Kiel really doesn't have a future at ND.
I wish we could tell him to transfer and we won't recruit anyone significant at QB for two years.
At one time he was very interested in Mizzou. Maybe he would be again..

Jamone Boyd arrested at his school and swung at a cop

There was strong mutual interest early. But we were looking for one QB in the class. When he committed to Indiana then to LSU, we took Maty. Once he decommitted he called us then OU and asked if we still had an open spot. We both said no. He then called ND and they took him in.
Now you can get mad and say why would we turn down a Five star, but I think its because people were starting to question the kid mentally after what he pulled. Especially with the way he decommitted from LSU and we had a QB we were equally as excited about, we said No thanks.

I didn't know that..
Still would have rather took him, I don't think Mizzou is in the position to be turning down 5 star qbs, even with a possible red flag. I would have much rather had him than Mauk.

Wouldnt have taken him over Mauk, but would have tried to get both. If he is a bust he will transfer.

I absolutely would have taken him over Mauk.
Mauk only had the numbers he did bc he threw every down, his team never punted, and he did this for 4 years. I think people like him because he's a 'record breaker' but don't really consider why he broke records.
I do hope he tears it up in the spring and proves me wrong, but I think he was a product of the play calling by his father in high school. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I realize that, but he is also a natural fit for the Spread. An offense he has run since he was in Middle School.
Gunner has the physical tools but higher bust potential IMO. I question the kid after how he did with the recruiting process. Yeah after he signs he isnt going anywhere, but this is the most important process in your life. He was being recruited since he was in 10th Grade, yet he cant get organized? And he is a QB? Idk about all of that.
Get both and let the field sort it all out.

Time for the staff to go into damage control mode. We really cannot afford to lose Ramirez and Abbington. I hope you guys are right and they eventually end up at Mizzou but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have my concerns.

In terms of Chase, he posted a picture picture awhile back of the screen from the new NCAA football game with him winning the heisman as a Mizzou player

An article on ShowMeMizzou has a headline implying we may be back in it for Marcus Loud.

Somebody mentioned on PM (one of Beisel's former coaches that stays in very close contact) that Chase to Eric that he only wants to visit LSU as to have fun down there, and in fact he is still very solid. Now he may just be saying that to us Missourians, but I am not that concerned about him leaving. We will see though.

As long as Chase isn't lying to Beisel, then I'm not worried either.

I feel like it is truthful. If you remember in the beginning of this recruiting cycle, Abbington's main selling point to other recruits like Zeke was, "Stay home, be a legend, play with DGB". Now it could have possibly changed but the Coach's account seems to fall in line with that quote. Thats why I am pretty confident.
