Educate me. How is this catching a break? Because it's not an ACL or because it's not a complete tear? I haven't heard a thing about the extent of the injury. Hoping the break is that it's a minor tear and he only misses a couple games. Otherwise wouldn't he miss at least half the season if not all of it? Thanks.

Had 3 catches for 92 with 2 TD catches of 22 and 28 yards. Really good night, keeping in mind CBC had a QB that was starting his first game.

An ACL will destabalise the entire knee joint. Making that joint unreliable, weak and prone to tear other ligaments and Meniscus. The ACL ligament is THE main ligament in your knee, it runs down the center of the knee joint from the major bones in the leg. Without it, even a bad tear, will loosen up the knee to twisting and sliding motions that can cause further cartilage damage as well as damaging other tendons. The Patella tendon is usually used to repair the ACL tears by scaring them in. Ligament damage is hard to heal from because of the lack of blood flow in the knee area. Thats why meniscus damage is trimmed out, there's just not enough blood flow to heal it.

An MCL is still not good but depending on the severity of the tear, can be stabilized with a brace and sometimes played on. It is still not good though, it depends on the severity of the tear.

I've ripped my ACL completely in in two. Didn't really hurt, but..... my knee was so loose and unstable it caused more damage to my meniscus and that did hurt. I had my ACL replaced with a cadaver tendon. Recovery time is cut down alot.

Everyone has slight tears in thier ligaments. These could be diagnosed as sprians ect. Ligaments and cartilage does not show up on X-rays and thats why they are missed. MRI's are the best way to diagnose ligament tears.

Depends on the severity of the tear. If it's like a minimal tear, they may brace it with a custom knee brace and let him try to play after some rehab and rest. If it's major then your looking at surgery. I was told it takes at least a full year before major repaired ligaments are realy healed in.

It also depends on if there is any meniscus damage too and that may involve some surgery and recovery time too. It all depends on what they find.

Who's been pissing for Ramirez? Not sure he could pass one anytime in the last 5 years if he was benching 450 as a freshman.

A little DGB update from camp.....

Quote from Tiger Extra story...

It wasn't all bad news for the offense yesterday. Dorial Green-Beckham continued a rapid climb up the depth chart with the preseason's longest play from scrimmage, a 65-yard catch-and-run to the end zone on a pass from Maty Mauk against the No. 1 defense. Lined up in the right slot, the freshman receiver snagged Mauk's quick throw, slipped free from linebacker Donovan Bonner's tackle and burst through the middle of the defense, cruising untouched the rest of the way.

"If you looked at him, it didn't look like he was running that fast because his stride is so big," said quarterback James Franklin, who watched the play from the sideline. "But then when the other guys got around him you could see he was really running fast because they weren't catching him."

Green-Beckham added a 6-yard reception and finished the three scrimmages with team-high totals for catches (12) and receiving yards (159).

Just hard work man, hard work. By the way, you'll get to see him play in stadium near you in the future. Gonna make some noise.

Yup, you guys have done really well this year. Missouri actually has a some pretty good talent in this class.

Hosick hasn't looked the best in this game, but Ramirez and Boyd are a force.

I just hope Ramirez and Hosick can talk some sense into Boyd and get him in a Mizzou uniform in 2013.

Hosick needs some molding, but he's dangerous with his feet. His passing mechanics will be adjusted when he gets to Mizzou next season for sure. He just never got loose today though. The Titans defense has alot of team speed on that side of the ball. Especially at linbacker. Hard to get going on a defense like that.
