I understand that we are "in" on more kids that in the past we might not have been "in" on at all and that the likelihood was we weren't going to get those kids anyways so losing them doesn't concern me too much. It is a step in the right direction that we are "in" on them at all. There is also no doubt that we did a GREAT job with the in-state kids. I guess what would make me feel a bit better is if in past years at this time, we would typically only have one out of state commit(and as I understand it, even that one is hedging). Anyone happen to know one way or the other as far as out of state commits at this time of the year in the past?

Last year we had 5 Highschool commits at this time. 3 from Missouri and 2 from Texas. Torey Boozer and Chaston Cuffee being the Texas kids.

Would have been 8 Highschool commits the year before. 4 from Missouri/KS and 4 from Texas.

If the state of Missouri wasn't so loaded with talent this year, we would have more out of state commits at this time in my opinion. The early out of state commits the last couple years were also not high end 3 star/4 star kids. Most of the higher end out of state guys we have been in contention for came later in the recruiting period.

I think things are looking great for recruiting and the out of staters will look better in the coming years as the south learns more about ole Mizzou.

We're still in the runnig for Boyd, Hannon, and Beisel. And I want to believe in the thin possibility of flipping Elliott from ohio state.

However, Arkansas (Hogville.net) certainly seems to think Boyd and Hannon are strong Hog leans.

First thing you need to learn is never listen to what people on Hogville say. If you believed everything they said every recruit in the nation would be "hawg locks"

I would say more than HV think Boyd is leaning towards Arkansas. He is making his 4th visit to Arkansas in a few weeks and I don't believe he's visited any other schools in awhile.

Now with Hannon, no matter what Arkansas recruiting analysts say about him I still think he ends up at Nebraska or Missouri.

Hannon

Hannon will likely not end up at Missouri, I think the coaching staff has cooled on him somewhat considering all of our OL commits so far this year. On the other hand I'm pretty sure the coaches really want Boyd and it will be a major loss if he ends up going to Arky. From what I've been reading on PowerMizzou though, Boyd will likely decide close to the end of summer and will likely take at least one more visit to Ol' Missourah

Would love to see each and everyone of these guys wear the black and gold. Williston seems to be a player who's stock is rising from what little reading I did. Its great his family sees Mizzou as the best option.

Love the size on Augusta. Seems like would be difficult to land him though, as he's from the heart of Big 10 country but you never know.

Marshall seems like a solid player too. Another Texas kid!!! I would assume he projects in the defensive backfield? Anyone know more?

If this is accurate, and the prior post indicating Mizzou may have cooled their jets on Hannon is accurate, does that make it unlikely for both then? FWIW both list Arkansas as leans on 247 with Hannon adding Nebraska to the mix.

Mizzou still wants Hannon. If we lost out on him though it wouldn't be a big loss.

Good chance that RHP Alec Rash will not sign with the Phillies. This would be HUGE since he was a 2nd rounder.

Just dropping in to say what's up to everyone, it's been very quiet on the recruiting front lately it seems...but on a positive note only 55 days until football season!!

Yes very quiet. I'm guessing the staff is re-gouping after all of the commitments to other schools lately.

I think I'll keep this one.

Also, Alec Rash's dad says he WILL NOT sign with the Phillies. Great news, probably one of the top 20 hs players that will be going to college this year.
