I thought I would compile a list of Important Gets and Luxury additions to this years recruiting class. We probably wont get everybody but I feel if we get most off of the list that is the key to a good class. If you feel like someone should be added or removed tell Me. Not every recruit or commit is on this list. I just tried to single out the highest potential difference makers right now. I am actually pretty excited about all of our commits but not all are included. I want this to be collaborative and maybe this could spark some discussion for projected roles of the commits future. Also, the term Luxury doesnt mean they are not important. I just thought that they would more of very nice Addition to the class. There is some bias based on Position and where the recruit is from, but recruiting is like that in real life too so I dont think that makes it more accurate. And these are all based on guys that I have seen give at least some interest in Missouri.

Pos - Name - Rivals Rating

Class Changing Gets

LB Nick Ramirez 5.8

ATH Chase Abbington 5.8 [Missouri commit]

RB Ezekiel Elliot 5.8 [Ohio State commit]

OL Jake Campos 5.8

DT Antar Thompson 5.7

OL Zach Hannon 5.7

OL Harneet Gill 5.6 [Missouri commit]

DE Jamone Boyd 5.6

LB Eric Beisel 5.6

Luxury Gets

QB Kenny Hill 5.8

QB Trent Hosick 5.7

LB Christian Lacouture 5.7

LB Joe Burkett 5.6 [Missouri commit]

OL Dan Skipper 5.6

OL Clay Rhodes 5.6

DT Merrick Jackson 5.6

WR J'Mon Moore 5.5

ATH Aarion Penton 5.5 [Missouri commit]

WR Tyree Harris 5.5

QB Darryl Richardson 5.5

Stripes, good list and I agree with all the Def players and Abbington on your class changing portion. The OL recruits are good, but there are about 7 other ones I would be just as happy about.

Under luxury, I would be stoked if we get Hosick, Lacouture, and Rhodes. The first 2 because I think they can be really good and the last one just to show our dominance over the western part of KC.

There are so many in state kids I'm excited about this year. I would not be disappointed if half our class this year is MO kids. Don't think I would have ever been able to say that before.

If the top is the "must gets" I would add Hosick,Moore, and Harris to that list. Hosick because he is a qb and the other two because of where they are from.

Getting Harris would be a great start to our venture into GA. Getting Moore would help keep the pipelines open in TX.

Some more OOS guys that would be great to fill out the class would include these below. Being in the East, I will be surprised if we average more than 5 TX kids a year. That is why GA and FL are going to be so important. I also think we need to nab good Big 10 talent that wants to play in the SEC due to our location. OOS guys I think we will have a chance at landing:

DT Merrick Jackson 6'2 320 3* Belleville,Il
DT Kennard Swanson 6'1 265 3* Lakeland,FL
DE Christian LaCouture 6'5 255 3* College Station,TX
DE Devin Washington 6'3 225 3* Orlando,FL
DB Darius Curry 6'1 190 3* Flowery Branch,GA
DB Cameron Sutton 6'0 175 3* Jonesboro,GA
CB Chocolate Wilson 5'9 178 3* Myrtle Beach,SC
CB Malik Shegog 5'10 165 3* Aliquippa,PA
OL Jake Campos 6'7 245 4* Des Moines,IA
OL Lucas Crowley 6'3 270 3* Ponte Vedra Beach,FL
OL Dan Skipper 6'10 280 3* Arvada,CO
OL Clay Rhodes 6'6 265 3* Stilwell, KS

I think were a lock for Rhodes. I also think our chances are good with Campos, Skipper, and Jackson. Most of the guys on that list I have no idea where we stand with them.

That would be sweet. Those are some big bodies. Also I have been leaving off RBs and WRs from my lists just because I think those are the easiest positions to fill. JMO

A couple of guys I thought could go either way. Some of that is based on mutual interest. I had heard his name pop up, but has J'Mon made any specific comments about Missouri? He was probably the closest to the CCG line. As for Tyree, I definitely want a kid that is that excited about Missouri, and I would be pumped if he committed. But if he went elsewhere I wouldnt have that real tinge of disappointment like I would for the kids on the CCG line (Hopefully that is not the case). Havent seen much on him and he is a relatively new name. Now, for Hosick I sat back and thought on. He checks off on the Missouri interest category, and after watching him play in the State final I would be disappointed if he went elsewhere. But being that we just got Mauk (who will most likely be RS) the year before, how much clock will he see? The kid is going to come in and work hard for the job. And I am feeling VERY confident in our stable of QBs with him as an addition, but to me that seemed like the definition of luxury. He would have a shot but to me I felt that he is going to come in and make the position very strong, but not be a favorite to start over Mauk who will be in his class. Again I would like this to be collaborative so I others think someone should be bumped or dropped I can adjust. Those were just my thoughts on what the big board would look like.

I had put Harneet in the category because his name is starting to get alot of attention. He blew up at the SPARQs combine in Ohio and was mentioned in a couple ESPN recruiting articles for placing #2 for O-Linemen at the combine. Zach Hannon's name is also starting to really get out there. Not to the same level has Harneet but I could definitely see him coming in and anchoring the line in a couple years. With the other OL, I just didnt really know enough about them to put them on that same level. And also because, they are in-state recruits and we need to clean up in Missouri with this level of prospects if we want to get to the next level in the SEC. I think locking down the state is imperative to that goal.

Rhodes was one of those OL that I considered, but just didnt know enough about. Lacouture would be a really nice addition, but it was kind of like with Danielle Hunter or Javonte Magee last year. We really wanted them as fans, but when we didnt get them we just kind of moved on. No real disappointment or heartbreak (Still dont understand why Magee chose BAYLOR though). As for Hosick, I had explained above but it looks like a couple people feel he should move up so I will adjust it if another person also thinks he should get bumped.

If anyone wanted to check out the Gill articles. I know one of them is the Bleacher Report, but it isnt an article of wild speculation or opinion. Its nice to see our recruits start to blow up.

quote:

Harneet Gill, OL, Francis Howell (St. Charles, Mo.)
Gill committed to Missouri two weeks ago and still made the 10 hour trip east for the combine and made the trip worthwhile with a big day. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound tackle jumped a whopping 33 inches in the vertical and threw the power ball 42.5 feet. He also clocked 5.28 in the 40 and finished with a stellar 90.93 SPARQ rating, second-best for an offensive lineman on the 2012 tour.

With Rhodes, some of my want is just to piss off the chickenhawks. I like Grunhard, but all that talk of him taking over KC from Andy Hill gets old. I see what you mean about Lacouture. My thing with Hosick is more than QB. I'm in the camp where I want to change player's positions. I have this dream where Abbington and Hosick are our starting safeties in a few years. In my dream those 2 are ball hawking, flying all over the field, and destroying the line of scrimmage. There maybe a reason I am not a scout or CFB coach though...

This wont happen. If you want Abbington at any other position than RB then its going to be WR. He wants to stay on the offensive side of the ball. I dont even know if Hosick would accept that as he has stated he wants to be offered as a QB. But Safety would make sense for Chase in a perfect world though.

Hosick is a qb for sure. I think Abbington could end up at OLB.

Yeah, our coaching staff says they don't like to change players positions so IRL Hosick will probably be a QB and Abbington a RB (if they sign). I can still dream though about what if they were in our secondary and being 1st round draft potential on defense.
