Exactly. And UR brings up some more exciting names. I'm proud of all the young men that will be Tigers.

247 has us 39, ahead of only UK whose quickly snuck up to 42.
Rivals has us 39 ahead of UK at 43 and Arky 54.
Scout has us 32 ahead of UT at 44, UK at 47 and Arky at 54.
ESPN has us 36 ahead of UK and Arky.

Just not going to cut it year in, year out.

And if we get 2 of those guys we likely jump into the top 30 in nearly every service. They're all high level 3 star prospects at worst.

Where we stand:

Elliott: Mizzou/Ohio St- Not much coming out here but Ohio St is the definate favorite.

Outlaw: Visited Mizzou,OU,Tx Tech within last 2 weeks. No news coming out here. Connection with Eddie Printz helps.

Singleton: Down to Mizzou/Syracuse- Most confident about landing this guy.

Johnson: Down to Cincy/Mizzou/USF- my money is on USF here.

I just don't want both UK and Arky to leap frog us. If we don't get a couple of those guys, I would imagine there are some teams behind us that will jump in front. The way this year has gone, just don't finish dead last in the SEC is all I ask at this point.

Me neither. We just need to win plain and simple. Before ast weekend our class would have been 5th in the Big 12 and 4th in the Big 10.

It's quite a change isn't it UR? Not only would we be that much higher in the Big 12, but the ones ahead of us aren't all top 10. I think OU has the best ranking and they're not even top 10.

Ole Miss is having a hell of a recruiting class and they're still 6th or so in the SEC by most accounts. Good enough for right around top 10-15 class but still 6th in the SEC. I'd like to get to the point where we're finishing between 5-10 regularly. As I see it, we'll never oust UF, UGA, Bama or LSU because they're players will tend to get the stars just because those schools are offering them, even if a player Mizzou picks up might have more potential. Just don't want to see 12-14 regularly.

As you said, just win!!!

Moore: another good offer list. Good size, fluid in and out of breaks. Saw some one on ones with him last spring he was dominant. Louisville tried to bring him in for a visit.

I'm waiting for Moore to sign somewhere else on NSD. He was one of the first to start looking elsewhere, albeit he stayed committed and hasn't said anything, but the initial, "Mizzou is my back up," attitude worries me. That being said, if he holds true, I also think he's a player. Same with penton. I know he is a Mizzou offers, he commits type guy, but I think he winds up in the Carl Gettis (early years), Castine Bridges type. Solid player, makes plays. Not saying he winds up on D, but I wouldn't be surprised unless he wants to be Earl Goldsmith. I think he's got a good head on his shoulders. Plays hard. Some evidence. I think he runs down EZE first clip. What about Burkett? I know he was given the "sleeper" tag by a lot of people at the start but haven't heard much sense. Augusta redshirts, prediction, Logan plays.

I think its more than just winning though. We are a victim of the circumstances in our first year of the SEC, but we also really fricked ourselves. Why did we slow-play Derrick Calloway when he was ready to commit? I mean even if you really thought he was garbo, havent people said that we have to take reaches to get into new recruiting areas like we did with Texas? I just dont understand it.

Burkett is a great athlete but still only weighs around 200 lbs.

Maybe Gachkar type.

The only reason I look at class ratings as important is I think it is something that catches the eyes of recruits. The fact is Mizzou has to win. We do have a favorable schedule to wear we can bring out 8-10 wins next year. We need to beat one of the big boys on our schedule though and that could be South Carolina (losing ML and coming to COMO) or Florida (played them close and they come to COMO this time) and that could open some recruits eyes. If we get EZE and Outlaw I think that salvages the class. But as long as we are a 6-8 win team as opposed to a 8-10 win a year team we will keep pulling down the average class.

And just a thought, anyone else feel like theres a chance that if Pinkel flops this year Henson some how gets the job? I just feel like with a healthy HJ, DGB in year two, a healthy QB (maybe Franklin or MM) he may improve the offense enough and Mizzou possibly cant get a name they want and promote from within.

Well I sure hope if Pinkel flops this year they don't promote from within. They did that this year and need to show the fanbase and donors that they are just as serious and willing to step up and do what it takes to win like they have asked us to do.

It depends on how things go. Yes, we like to promote from within. But Alden also has a bigger stadium to fill, and knows what will happen if we don't improve. Henson may be fantastic - and that still might not be enough to win him the job if Alden feels like he has to go for a big name to fill the stadium.

Someone earlier mentioned a Printz - Outlaw connection. What is it? Are they friends? I sure hope Printz is working on him if that is the case.

Im not saying that Henson wont stay at OC if our offense looks good but I just dont think he'll necessarily get the HC job. I would like to think it will be a big name hire.... to excite the fan base / recruitment purposes IMO

It would be awesome if there was an Outlaw/Printz connection. We need some of that. I dont mind getting the 3* from the georgia, bama, florida states right now because I think if we start winning it will lead to more.

With Alden, again we wanted a big name OC too but for whatever reason we couldnt get it done. I just have a fear of that happening if our HC comes up. We have a lot of attractive qualities we just gotta finish. Hopefully we get wins this year and its a non issue.

I have faith in this season. Look at our schedule its no that tough IF everyone is healthy. Hopefully Josey return to form. We need to get a consistent running game to take pressure off our QBs. I think Henson makes that a focal point. It only takes one season, sometimes one game, to open recruits eyes.

Outlaw and Printz became friends at the Semper Fi game.
