Wouldnt mind a few nerds if it meant they are obsessed with studying film and the playbook.

I wonder why that changed.

I think I am going to do my chart of must gets and luxury gets like I did along time ago. Updated version.

MO, I like you man so dont take this personally.

You have now broken down prospects into:

Jesus Freaks
Nerds
Tools
Cool
Bad Eggs

You're attempting to convince everyone that there is a tangible and quantifiable value that places players into each category and that their success can be attributed in some way to these character traits.

You say I wouldn't understand. I suggest no one but you really understands. Im not a cold hard facts kind of guy Mo, Im a common sense type of guy.

I thought Boyd was the one the the academic issues, but I could be wrong....

I knew about Boyd but i thought I heard when they were discussing him taking officials that in order to do so the recruit needs to have already taken the ACT per NCAA rules and that he couldn't take officials yet because he has yet to take those ACTs.

Could be nothing in the end.

I guess I can just notice when someone is cooler than another person. And I think coolness does have a factor in athletics.

I just see a pattern in the kids that Mizzou gets.. Seems like we attract a certain type of guy and repel another.

I wonder if you're talking about cool guys like the Honeybadger and his dealing friends? Or cool guys like Tennessee's QB chucking empty beer bottles off his balcony at cars? Or would it be the cool guys at Auburn who got into a fight with a guy at a party, who then returned with a gun and killed 6 people? Are those the "cool" guys we're talking about? I'd rather not have that kind of cool kid.

This year has been awful, no doubt about it. But let's not insult the kids who sign with Missouri with comments like this. We have had some great leaders on this team - Chase Daniel, Sean Weatherspoon, Pig Brown, Ziggy Hood, Brad Smith - these are names that come to mind. I could care less if our guys are "cool" or not - as long as they work hard, play hard, and put the team first.

Completely misunderstood what I meant.. never mind. Being a trouble maker has nothing to do with being cool.

OK, sorry. What did you mean? How do you define coolness?

You mean cool by confidence or a swag to them. But instead we get players without an edge. Correct? I am actually trying to get a sense. Interesting point you bring up. Cool as in recruits than can bring an elite attitude onto the field, but not a headcase.

Yeah, that is it.

I'm bad at articulating things sometimes, what you said is pretty much what I meant.

This isn't all encompassing, which makes my argument even more flimsy. Spoon was cool, with an edge, and was a great leader. Brad Smith had all three too. And they're not the only two.

My bit of frustration over losing guys like Elliot, Ramirez, and Boyd sparked this weak argument.. It's just frustrating seeing us lose guys that look like they have IT. One look at Rafe Peavey and you should want him to lead your football team.. I just get frustrated that we're bringing in two average prospects and losing this guy. This whole thing has more to do with my frustration over who we're losing in comparison to who have locked up.

Peavey was never an option for Mizzou due to circumstances out of the staff's control. You understand that right?

I guess I don't..

What circumstances are keeping him from coming to Mizzou?

He is a deep Arkansas legacy recruit.

The Peavey's have several ties to the Razorbacks. Jack is a former graduate assistant. Rafe's mother ran track and graduated from U of A, and his uncle was a swimmer, who qualified for the 1980 Olympics.

He grew up an arkysaw fan, the chances of getting him no matter how much time we put in on him was probably around 0.1%.

EDIT: Too bad EZE didn't think as much about his parents alma mater though.

Yep. No way to spin that one. It just flat out sucks and is a recruit this staff should have landed.
