After watching the scrimmage I like everything about our defense. They had a lot of juice flowing on Saturday. That group got really fired up on every good play and every defensive stop. The spirit of that group is pretty amazing.
We are really big up front. Really big. It is nice to see us soooo very deep in the front 7. McKinney was money on his tackles. J Love was very impressive. Any screen to his side was a negative yardage play. We do have some reserve LB that are earning PT.
Gus Walley has really good size. He is listed at 6'4", but I think he is taller than that. He is going to be a match up problem for people when he does play.
Fitzgerald is really tall as well. He holds the ball too long and makes some bad decisions when he does throw it, but he is going to be a real force in the read option. He has a pretty good arm, but he needs a lot of work. Fortunately, he does have time on his side.
Special teams: O...M...G... and not in a good way.

Mostly FG. We had a 37 yarder that was way shot. I really couldn't tell if he hit it that badly or if it was tipped at the line. Of course, we hit some sideways as well.
Some of the punts were amazing though. There was one 55 yarder that was ridiculously high. I honestly wasn't paying that much attention until the punt was hit. You don't see many 55 yarders where the returner is surrounded by 5 guys when the ball finally comes down.
Holloway went to catch one punt that bounced off of him and went about 15 yards back towards the punter.
The whole kick-off scheme is to boot it high so they do return it so we can pin them inside of the 25. That actually seemed to work OK.
