First of all, I love Dak. To say that he has the potential to be phenomenal QB is an understatement. However, he can't lower his head and plow into the LB's in the NFL like he does in college. As a result, he will lose a little of the power house look he brings to the table currently. That being said, he has a lot of improvement to do in his passing game before he comes into the discussion of being a great NFL QB.

Remember that, playing a similar role, Tebow threw for 88 TD's and only 16 INT's at UF. He led the SEC each of his 3 starting seasons with upwards of a 65% completion rate. That didn't transfer at all to the NFL. It is a lot easier to put up stats when you play the style of offense we do, it is a completely different animal to be able to play a primarily pocket passing role.

In summary, I think that he has the work ethic and talent to improve to the point of being an NFL QB. He definitely isn't there yet, but if he continues to improve at the rate he did last season, he can go as far as he wants. It will be interesting to see how we develop him, I really hope we give him the tools to make it at the next level.

Edit: I think we need to hold the reigns on Heisman talk. Its easy to remember the 150 yards in 8 minutes agains Ole Miss and forget that they dropped a thrown interception, and another that probably should have been. We definitely improved at the end of the year, but we had our fair shake of love from the football gods as well.

We need to sit back and see how we look in the fall, its too easy to think we are a top 3 SEC team every offseason only to be brought back to reality.

Need to see if he can stay healthy for a season as a starter.

This. If he gets hurt, we are pretty much doomed.

Williams looked OK for a true freshman. He is built for our offense. He has a really strong arm. I think he will be a really solid player for us.

As do I, but in due time. He really didn't play all that great during the Egg Bowl. The kid's best asset is his legs, that's about it.

I effing love Dak. He has a good shot at being the best MSU quarterback ever. He has a shot at being one of the best SEC quarterbacks over the next two years and I'm very excited for his future.

With all of that said, he's just not an NFL QB. The style of the NFL just does not favor what he brings to the table as a football player. He would have to improve his touch, accuracy, and reads an incredible amount over the next two years to be even considered by the NFL. And I just don't think those things are easily learned. Look at Tebow and how much effort he put into being a better passer and how little it did for him.

I hope DakAttack proves me wrong, but I think this discussion is silly.

Sound familiar? Just like Dak, his throwing will do nothing but improve. He was only a True Freshman.

From everything I read about Fitz in bowl practices I wouldn't be surprised to see him in the 2 spot come Fall. It isn't like we won't have young options, we actually have 4 scholarship QB's this year.
