I don't know how accurate this is, but this is coming from a very reliable source. Here's what I've heard...

After one of our games in Omaha, the NCAA took Alexander and another player from our team (I don't know who) and drug tested them. Results came back, Alexander failed but the other player passed. It's being said that it was a chemical in Alexander's body that showed up in the drug test and it's not illegal, therefore MSU has filed an appeal.

That said, Alexander doesn't need to be the starter next year anyways. He's a career .220 hitter with average defense. We have at least 3 players that can hit better than .220 and play average defense.

I believe creatine is outlawed by the NCAA as a PED. It’s much more expansive than people think

Every player gets tested in the NCAA tourney per my understanding. Belmont tested positive for a banned substance.

Him being processed would be great for our team. It's alot better than having a Sr riding the bench. He needs to transfer to Delta State and help them win what he can. He cant hit SEC pitching.

Either way, he has to go. His defense is simply not good enough for him to hit .220. I've gotten into it with fans on Twitter over this and they all say, "He led the team in RBIs! 49 RBIs!" Guess what, he still had a .220 Average. Not just this year, but he is a career .220 hitter. He won't improve even if he is back on the team next year. He will still hit .220, but his RBI total will regress to around 30-35.

We have players on our roster that will hit higher than .220 and play average defense. Foscue and Westburg can both play shortstop.

Disagree 100%. Alexander was our best clutch hitter. Yes he only hit .221 but he lead the team in RBI’s and came up big in several pressure packed situations. Forget the AVG, timely hitting is the most important stat in baseball.
I hope he is back and starting unless someone beats him out at the position.

Hard to believe our own fans criticize our own players. Sad and disappointing.

You can't forget his average. You have to be able to hit the ball. I bet Alexander doesn't have 49 RBIs next season (if he's back). I bet he'd have 30-35 max. Foscue and Westburg can both play shortstop and both will hit at least .220 and make the routine plays, which is what Alexander does.
