I was saying this coaching staff was a joke a year ago. Another terrible hire by Cohen in Joe Moorhead

another terrible hire? name the bad coaches we have on campus right now. Howland isnt all that bad (even though he is old and will retire soon), Chris Lemonis is probably one of the better coaches in the sec (this isnt a joke he is one of the top recruiters in the country), and joe is just meh. it was a shot in the dark hire and here we are nearing two years later. he isnt the worst IMO. He is a great recruiter but outside that he doesn’t show a lot of emotion on the field. do you know anyone better out there we could call? i am open to options because I can promise you we wont be hiring a jimbo, dabo, or a mike leach. it wont happen.

Howland was a Stricklin hire and is one of our best coaches on campus whether anyone wants to admit it. He improved our dumpster first into a competitive SEC Basketball Program. Just a shame our shitty fans don't support it.

I can't say the Lemonis hire is bad. But hiring a young LSU Baseball Assistant coach wasn't a good move.

As far as other minor coaches go can't really comment much because they don't seem to be doing any better nor any worse than what the program was already doing.

ETA I'm a huge fan of him getting rid of Vann for Ricketts. Took a lot of guts ecspecially in July but I'm glad re recongized how bad our softball program was.

Btw I wanted to hire Neal Brown. He was Troy's Head Coach and currently the head coach of West Virginia. I'm glad we didn't hire Pruitt. But not considering Brown was a bad move imo.

West Virginia won 44-27 today over North Carolina State. He also defeated a FCS Power James Madison 20-13 in his first game, something idk if we would do today. If you don't somewhat follow FCS Football, James Madison is up there with NDSU.

And yes their old HC left a dumpster fire behind unlike what Mullen left us.

The last time I saw us play that lethargic might have been the year A&M came to starkville and JF has his way with us. In the first 10 minutes, I knew it was bad. They didn't want to even be out there. That's on coaching.

Who's a leader on this team? I can't think of one. It's one thing to miss Simmons' play on the field, but it's another that we don't have a guy inspires others to bust arse.

We also have a serious problem at center. slow snaps, high snaps,. every time.

Now I say frick the SEC for making us play that game at 11am and back-to-back weeks in sept at that. We got screwed big time with that and cost us the home crowd.

Very true. He didn't screw up the season big time last year so that's why I say he's not bad.

Yeah, he didn't screw up a great situation. I hope he is the real deal.

I'm going to put on my optimism hat and say, "hey guys, maybe this loss was good for us. Maybe it will light a fire under the players now and they will go out there and fight hard the rest of the season."

That was painful to type.

Let’s be real Cohens first choice wasn’t Lemonis and Canny was a disaster....but I expect decent baseball hires because our AD was a baseball coach. I think the Moorhead hire has been a complete and utter disaster. The chaos that seems to go on every game is maddening. Also there are no adjustments to speak of throughout the game...the man is in over his head.

Cannizaro had the potential to be the best coach in the conference if he had kept his pants on

Cann wasn't ready to be a HC and it's not just the girl. Just look at how poorly he managed the off-season. He was in over his head and why Cohen thought he was a good choice we'll never know.

Lemonis tho seems solid so far but we'll see.

If we're being real here, Moorhead is leaving for Pittsburgh if they fire their coach after this year so this problem will resolve itself.

I wouldn't go that far. Utter disaster is Taggart at FSU. Croom was way more of a disaster. So far, he's been doing pretty much what Mullen was always doing.

L O L. The only thing I think he has done a little better than Mullen Is recruit but Mullen was a much better coach. Idk why so many of our fans can’t see this disaster unfolding in front of us.

Well I'm not arguing that. In fact, I was the one, probably only one here championing Mullen and how we would miss him. But let's not act like Mullen didn't have some crappy head scratching games and losses. We actually did better last year than what I was expecting while everybody else was expecting 10 wins. By no means am I excusing Joe, But I can't say a disaster until we lose to Tennessee, Arkansas, and Ole miss. And on that note, I can't see Cohen keeping him around if he does do that. I'd like to think Cohen is going to have a shorter leash than what Templeton or Stricklin had.

You think we could get Kleiman for next year? I'd take it right now.
