His father is a graduate of Mississippi State.

Honestly this guy seems very similar to Dan McDonnell without having to pay a high salary. I like it. Not the flashy name, but like Moorhead this is the type of coach I think State needs personally. But I can understand those who disagree.

I don’t have a problem with the hire. College baseball is an interesting and odd sport so there are no guarantees with anyone. He appears to have done well recruiting. He will have advantages at State over everywhere else he’s been that should help him improve his recruiting. Like I said though, college baseball is odd. He will have to be careful to not recruit too well and lose a bunch of commits to the draft every year. I like the fact his dad is a state grad.

The only issue I have with the whole thing has to do with Cohen talking too big early on. I kind of equate it to if he’d said during the football search “we’re looking at James Franklin, Urban Meyer, and Nick Saban, then come home with Moorhead. And I don’t mean that in any way to slight Moorhead. I think he will be great and he’s got me more excited about MSU football than I’ve ever been, but Cohen obviously put his foot in his mouth when he should’ve stayed quiet.

I think at this point we have to have a wait and see. I don't what to think of it. Lemonis will be given the chance and have the fan support to succeed. Let's hope it works out.

The only thing I do know is by this time next year we will have a better grasp on Cohen's hires. I hope they're home runs.
