It's no set score. The better their GPA, the lower they have to make on the ACT -- and viceversa...

It blows my mind that the ACT can keep a lot of talented athletes out of D1 sports.

When I came along, integration had just started. A LOT of black athletes could not make the necessary ACT scores early on. MS schools missed out on a lot of NFL and NBA talent as a result. Walter Payton went to JSU. The Short brothers from Hattiesburg went to JSU as well because of the ACT. Eugene was better than Purvis, but he got busted for cocaine early in the league and was toast after that. Purvis went on the lead the NBA in scoring for a while. When they were at JSU, they were way better than most D1 teams, but they couldn't play them because of the rules in place at the time. At one time, in the late 70's, the top 3 RB in the NFL had played at Jackson State. Another top NFL back (Wilbert Montgomery) signed with Jackson State but left because he couldn't get enough carries behind the guys that were already there.

What's up with Leo Lewis' problem about staying in state? Most people have him as a heavy Bama favorite?

He got a Bama offer and is a priority to them. That makes him a "heavy bama lean".

That perception is not based on anything he's actually said or done that I've seen.

Same here. So why is everyone predicting him as 100% Bama?

ETA: Thanks (sarcasm) for trying to belittle me, but you read my post wrong.

Belittle? What are you talking about?

If anything, I'm simply belittling the dumbasses that predict him to Bama because Saban spent a few extra minutes talking to him personally on one junior day. The crystal ball is what's shaping the perception...

My B. I read your post wrong as well. Apparently, we're on the exact same page

Exactly, which is stupid because they probably have little to no reason why, besides the fact that Bama is Bama and they get whoever they want.
