All indications are that he is entertaining FSU, but will most likely want to stay close to home and play at State. Thats coming from people that know him.

Do winning programs ever rely on their 3rd and 4th String QB's or are they there for depth?
The fact that Fitzgerald can play WR/TE can only help him see time on the field if he doesn't crack the two deep at QB.

With you on this, Dynastydawg. We'll be in the minority here though.
Here are the guys we've taken during the summer months under Mullen -- keeping in mind that these are final ratings and not necessarily ratings at the time of their commitment(per scout -- since they keep commitment dates on the main list):
So, we've taken 6 blue chips in 3 years. Some have been solid, but none have been stars yet. Still too early to tell on a few. This is one of the most disappointing subsets of our team that I can imagine at this point(Eulls, Arrington, Morrow, James, Redmond, Grindle). One is completely gone.
We've taken 3 guys with mediocre offers(Antoine, Holloway, Maiden) -- and it's too early to see on the first 2, while Maiden is gone.
We've taken 19 with little/no interest or offers. We've hit on AT LEAST 9 of them(Jameon, Virges, Malcolm, Clausell, Slay, Justin Cox, Prescott, Robinson, Ryan Brown), have 3 more that are on the depth chart as rsFR and look promising(Fred Brown, Holloway, Jiles), and 5 more that are too soon to tell(Carter, Walley, Dale, Adams, Antoine). We've only positively whiffed on two summer "diamonds" in these 3 classes(Knox and Fosselman).
If any of you can actually look at these lists and not trust Mullen's player evaluations, especially on diamonds in the summer, I really don't know what to tell you...

Did you read what I posted or did you chose to ignore it so that your opinion would become more valid?

Maybe so...
I just fail to see the point in complaining about this in July. July. And the majority of our fans here are losing their minds about everything that isn't perceived as a paper victory.
I ran you through the previous classes. The dropoff that many here are alleging simply isn't reality.

Alright, since you requested it...
Does freeze get credit at our sister school for their class? Does saban get credit for AL's class? Obviously they do. So it makes sense to me that if you want to hang the poor recruiting label on Mullen, go ahead. However, I think there's more to it. Chris Kiffin played on relationships of brothers and their friends to get the class they got this year. Plus they see Freeze and Kiffin aren't going anywhere. Kirby Smart is staying at bama with saban and since they aren't leaving, 4/5* still go there. So we need to get a winning staff and keep them here first and foremost. When Mullen has a staff that will put plans together that build relationships with these kids and build a winning mentality, we will rise up and the 4/5* will want to come. I think he's on the right track getting gonzo. Townsend is a wait and see but if he pans out, we could be on the brink of something big. If not, then he was a "name" hire and we need someone else. If we keep having staff turnover, kids aren't going to want to come here.
I got into a discussion with folks on a CL blog a while back and most were happy with 7-8 win seasons. I for one, am not happy with just settling for mediocrity which stems from poor recruiting. And poor recruiting stems from mediocre staff and staff turnover.

I'm glad he's finally putting together the staff he wants in year 5.

This seriously adds nothing to the topic. The sarcastic/funny comments are cool in the everyday threads but why water down a standing thread where we actually like to have a somewhat serious discussion?
