That's what he said, something about JUCO recruiting rules. He wanted to commit back in march but he couldn't do it publicly since he hadn't finished two semesters of JC yet, or something like that.

Updated.
Not sure what the hell is going on with our recruiting though.

He's looking for another Chris Jones.

I'm glad he's decided to use all the scholarships available in an effort to find him.

Holy hell, we offered 2017 DB Aapri Washingtontoday...He is on the same team with 2016 commits Robert Washington and Conner O'Donnell and is actually Robert's cousin.

I would love if we manage to get Aapari, but I'm not holding my breath for freshman and sophomores to be.
And what the hell are we doing? Seriously, what the hell are we doing?

Aapri has truly elite potential if he can gain size. Why would we not offer him early? Especially when he's likely to commit soon and go to work helping secure teamUSA teammates for MSU exactly like Robert has been doing. We are MSU. We are never going to get this type of player from out of state unless we think outside the box and develop these relationships early. For one, I'm damn glad Mullen is continuing to attempt to use this type of recruiting as an equalizer even without Brewster still here. Not saying that I'm confident they stick or anything else -- just think having them committed early has been nothing but good for us...

With all due respect, is this not the mindset you've been railing against?

Not at all. I simply said we've got to work and think outside the box to "get there" in football recruiting -- and I'm glad that Mullen is now attempting to do that. Wish he would have been doing this all along, but I'm glad he's actually applying what he learned from Brewster though. I just don't understand why people complain about our recruiting -- and then also complain about us taking these guys early.
Is this not essentially what Freeze did by locking up Treadwell's best friend after signing day -- and Nutt did taking Denzel when no one else would? Both are perfect examples of what I'm talking about.
Got a handful of TeamUSA players in that 2016 class that could commit to us at any time, several of which are already obvious elite prospects(Washington cousins, Moe Neal), and a few others that have basically said they are just waiting on offers to commit(Pollack, Johnson, DeVeaux, etc). These are guys on a whole different planet than what we've been able to recruit previously.

Mullen
The kid has picked up 3 offers in the past couple of months and been visited by coaches at OM and Tennessee, but we won't even bother calling him.
247 shows that Billy Gonzales is his lead recruiter. I'm glad to see that we replace Brewer with someone who isn't doing jack shite.

Hudspeth would have Cathey over for dinner twice a week.

One reason I was very pissed we didn't go out and get a bad arse recruiter after Brewster left.
Right or wrong, kids like to be shown love these days. Not hear some Yankee talk about how they are gonna come in a work their arse off everyday. If he even contacts them at all.

247 shows that Gonzalez went and visited him on April 22. He must've thought that would've covered him for the summer.

Has anybody heard anything BIG about our recruiting? I know that its possible that we'll get some kids to commit after our camp but Imo its seems like were getting circles danced around us on the recruiting trail.
