Yeah, that guy we were facing is considered the best draft prospect in the B1G on the hill. No pushover by any margin.
Need to keep Henderson and Garner in the lineup right now. And I think Collins is about to get going.

Well...woody can be the weekday starter.

I'm with you at this point. Put him on midweek and make him earn the weekend spot back. It fuggin sucks to burn Mitchell for a whole weekend because your Friday night guy can't get out of the 3rd because he's mental with his command...

Get Robson's arse out of there.
What is Cohen's fricking obsession with this kid?

Yeah, we have to move him there until he figures it out.

I have no idea. He probably won't get another shot this weekend after tonight.

He's a first round talent -- with an early round projection. He's not missing bad -- he just hasn't found "it" yet.
Our pitching decisions don't have much to do with Cohen honestly. He may answer the questions in the postgame -- but Butch makes the decisions. Butch's autonomy to "manage" the pitching staff is one of the reasons we've been able to hold onto him this long. And I'll trust whatever decision he thinks needs to be made with that staff at this point...
That said, I definitely think Woody needs to spend a few starts in the midweek finding his command -- where not going deep won't necessarily hurt us like it does when we have to burn Ross Mitchell for a weekend...

He was referring to Robson when he asked what Cohen's obsession, not Woody.

Can't wait for a full day of baseball. Double the baseball, double the daste!

Not sure how he missed that one.

So if we all agree that Woody needs to be moved to the midweek game, will you finally concede that Bracewell should be a weekend starter or do we throw another freshman out there for the fun of it?

I'm not sure how many weekday games we can out ourselves in the hole with him starting. I guess we give him 3 more chances and he will decide his own fate

I don't really see why it matters that Ross was used and won't be available. He gave us 6.2 innings. Basically he gave us a very good starting performance.
I hope Fitts goes 6 today so we can have Lindgren for the second game.

Ahhh -- in that case, I'm an idiot, and I agree. His opportunities should be wearing very damn thin at this point. Especially with Armstrong and Henderson swinging it pretty well right now.

I just don't fully trust Bracewell in a starter role yet. He gives you some tremendous outings. Then, he lays some total eggs. At least he has in the past. I've got to see a little more consistency before I'm fully on board with the idea. But if I'm conceding Woodruff off the weekend starter list, Bracewell fits in that slot for sure.
I think I'd prefer to give Lindgren the first chance to claim that Friday slot though. Then, if Hudson has another bad outing this weekend, we can talk about giving his spot to Bracewell...

I like having Ross to slam the door in high pressure situations in middle relief when the need arises on Sundays. Obviously, we don't have that right now.
Saturday is pretty well taken care of. Not worried about it at this point.

Woodruff not finding his groove just really fricks up our rotation at this point.
I like having Ross and Lindgren in the pen to imitate last year's situation as closely as possible. Having two guys back there that good is devastating for teams that chase your starter.
We just need a clear number 1 and it just seems like that has alluded us for whatever reason.

We may have seen today's lineup before, but considering how everyone is playing, I think today's lineup is the best that we can possibly put on the field at the moment.
