RS JR with no returning QB ahead of him is not the same as a RS SO with a 5th yr returning starter that was lights out in his previous 14 games. Not the same situation at all.
Russell this year = Mackey last year. Want to lay odds on Russell destroying that production this year?
...no. Last year was Russell's 3rd year in the system and his 2nd year to play. This was Mackey's 1st year to play and only the 2nd year in the system. Mackey took like 30 more snaps total than Russell last year.
It wasn't the exact same situation. Russell had much less pressure on him. There was a ton of pressure on Mackey to make a play every snap. So if anything Russell having a proven 5th year senior QB ahead of him should've made things easier for him.

I don't know...maybe not bring in Masoli in the first place? Like the 119 other FBS teams didn't?
That whole process KILLED your team chemistry and player leadership. Was.Not.Worth.It. That should have been Nathan Stanley's team until he proved he couldn't cut it(which he never got the chance to do). If Stanley stays in, you beat JVSU by 30, and the past 2 seasons both take on an entirely different complexion.
No shite. But the way you said it was "Mackey came in as a 4* QB from Juco and had to redshirt" Like he was just so bad that he had to redshirt. The reason he redshirted was because Nutt brought Masoli in. I don't think me or Randall Mackey had any say so in that decision.

Good grief. Sup wit all dese words

Mackey was getting starters reps in practice- Russell wasnt most of the season. There is pressure that comes with the starting job, but there is also a sense of relaxation as well that a 2nd teamer doesnt have.

No- Masoli was brought in because Nutts had no confidence in a juco QB with a speech impediment

Mackey was splitting reps with Stoudt and Brunetti, with Stoudt starting half the season so no he wasn't taking starter reps the whole season. But of course you don't care about facts.

He had a chance to bring in a heisman candidate QB, I don't blame him for having more confidence in Masoli than a Juco QB especially when he could redshirt the JUCO QB and not use any of his eligibility.

not to begin last season he wasnt- there's your fact

To begin the season he was suspended for the first game so Stoudt and Brunetti were taking the snaps with Mackey running 3rd then Stoudt started the next 3 or 4 games so he was taking the starting snaps.
Your facts are wrong once again and it's no longer surprising

I apologize- I had forgotten that Mackey took over in the middle and got all the 1st team reps then

As opposed to what? How much you keep up with us now after 2 of the worst consecutive seasons in our program's history?
If that's the gauge, there's a strong possiblity your obsession of Ole Miss could exceed your obsession of Cheetos.

Why? After Ole Miss waxed state 45-0 they were literally the last thing on my mind (inb4lulz2009).
I guess obsessing over the only team you can beat in the west is kind of a fail safe, but who the frick wants to obsess over a shitty team? Besides you I guess.

Posting 4 or 5 times total constitutes an obsession? How many times have you posted in the OM thread?

Posting in a State thread calling State posters obsessed simply makes you a hypocrite.

You just linked SPS...a thread that is MONTHS old...Clearly not obsessed at all...
For the most part, we admit that we follow everything that happens with Ole Miss closely, because much of it, particularly in recruiting, directly effects MSU.

I've posted 4-5 times in this thread, so by your rationale, what does that
make you?

Which was hypocritically calling us obsessed in OUR** thread.

These arguments are retarded. How about each side stays in its own thread unless they want to discuss actual recruiting issues?
