Chris Jones is getting tons of love from the 24/7 staff covering his practices...

I bet he gets bumped up to a 5 star

Quez Johnson, and he's from Starkville. He was only a freshman. He was a honorable mention JUCO All American.

Also looks to be a really good open field tackler.

His best single talent IMO...Absolutely elite in that regard. He plays sideline to sideline in run support as well as anyone I've seen from the safety position. Just has tremendous speed and instincts. That video doesn't do justice to that side of his game, which is his most impressive part based on the 3 EMCC games I watched livestreamed online.

Fluker literally disappeared in those games behind Cox, and he's pretty dang good in his own right.

What do y'all think our chances are with Woulard?

I was scrolling through his twitter. It is comical how many Ole Miss fans feel the need to be all up in our business.

For example:

@Asiantii_2 Do your research. Don"t settle for a bad situation (MSU) in the best conference (SEC) when your dreams can come true elsewhere.

WTH?? Do they not have anything better to do?

After skimming his TL, the guy literally begged for RTs seeking a $1,000 donation so he could attend the Compass Bowl in Birmingham. He also tweets recruits on the reg. Anyone who tweets a recruit should be decapitated IMO.

This dude is a real tool. Apparently, he is a high school football coach as well. I wonder what his superintendent would think of him tweeting at high school kids downgrading universities? He tweets at most all of their recruits, which is a violation, but it is also creepy as fugg.

@stricklinMSU @Gator_Bowl With so few state people going to the game, you better ring your bells so your coach can find you in the crowd.

I do not understand people who take fandom to this extreme.

Jake Thomas makes team USA U19 football team. Not sure how prestigious that is.

That's pretty good. Means he'll get tremendous coaching over the summer - the downside being that he won't be on campus. All in all, it's a good trade-off IMO...

He is going to redshirt anyway, so it may not matter. Or Mullen may not even allow him to play. If I was Jake i would want to get to campus asap

Good Lord. I just watched Shaquille Fluker's season highlights. How does this guy not have an offer from us? #1 Safety in the nation, from Meridian. Dude is a head buster and ball hawk.

Highlight tape made him look a lot better than he looked in real-time IMO... Plus Georgia got on him early.

Still wish we would give him a look at strong safety

We are super lucky that one of the best junior colleges in the nation is only an hour away. I hope Stephens stays there forever. It really helps with our JUCO recruiting.

We're very lucky to have the MSJCAA overall. That's a huge resource advantage that we have over other schools. We've got to continue to try to lock it down as best we can. Personally, I'd like to see us take 5-7 guys/yr out of them. The best teams in MSU history were built on the backs of JUCO guys...

But this was also ultimately our demise under Jackie. 5-7 is too high IMO. I won't feel comfortable if we consistently take 5 or more a year.

The demise under Jackie was Jackie himself - or more precisely, not recruiting/developing lockdown corners to replace Smoot/Bean, which was the only way Joe Lee's scheme stayed viable. Those teams he recruited were STILL uber talented. Look back at recruiting rankings - we still haven't even approached the level he had us at(thanks in part to a down Alabama). Also, it was a huge mistake to step outside our comfort zone on all those Arizona JUCO guys - which were the ones that burned us.

We never get to the next level on highschool talent alone. We've got to consistently take risks on elite JUCO guys to help us out - just got to. I certainly don't want to take filler guys, but as long as they are elite, I say go after them. We could have easily ended up with 7-8 this year. I hate we are missing on Hooks, who is an absolute monster...
