We started 5-0. ATM showed everyone to load the box and stop the run to keep us from scoring many points. It worked.
Every other team has done the same, and we are 2-3 in our last 5 games, with a 7 point win at home over Vandy by only scoring 14, and a miracle comeback win scoring 15 over Missouri.

In 5 games, we have made 0 changes to show different looks, present new challenges, etc. I'm pretty frustrated with our coaching staff. It's like they don't know how to adapt to anything.

On call in shows people are speculating that Gran wants to do more but Stoops won't let him. Doesn't want to put Wilson in a position to make a bad mistake. I get that, but it's the last quarter of the season. He should be way more comfortable now.

And why does every running play we run have to be a Snell/Rose run into the middle of the line.

Conrad/Bowden are mostly being wasted. Their talent is real, and we aren't working enough to get either one the ball.

The late season collapse always happens. I don't know what it is, Stoops I do believe blamed this last loss entirely on himself so he at least owns it.
I do think a different coach could've done better this season with this team, Conrad and Bowden would've been utilized much more and Terry wouldnt be as tight. But another coach likely wouldn't have this team.
Stoops was hired first and foremost to deliver in recruiting. He has done so, and he has gotten us to what will now be 3 bowl games in a row.
If stoops' decision making can improve he could be a great coach.
I had not heard that he was the one handcuffing Gran, if he has been then I feel bad for criticizing Gran.
Stoops needs to learn how to finish the season. I don't know what the deal is, but the wheels always seem to come off somewhere between games 5 and 7
Still I will take the position we are in now over 6 years ago

Yes, I agree. But to me, with this team and this defense, losing to a bad UT team is a huge backbreaker. No reason we didn't dominate that game, and yet, UT had their way with us on both sides of the ball.

That was embarrassing and inexcusable for this team at this time of year.

Agreed. I really don't know what it is, but they have this problem every year

I call this Houston Nutt Disease.

Nutt had some loaded teams during his stay at Arkansas but whenever we started the season really hot he'd start to choke up on things and play not to lose. And the result would be a late season swoon. Something Stoops seems inclined to do.

I'm not really sure its something he can break himself from doing to be honest. Some coaches, a great many of them I would think, pucker up and start to second guess themselves the higher the stakes get with late season games.

Stoops may be trying to protect Wilson from having a bad season and losing confidence. A win tonight and a solid bowl performance will have the team up for next season. It takes a minimum of 2 years to make a QB really good.
