I’m a little nervous about the Arkansas series this weekend. It’s still hard for me to wrap my head around us being truly good.

Well if it helps, Texas Tech just went to UL and beat them pretty handily today.

If you told me Arkansas and Kentucky were about to play each other and they were both ranked in the top 5 I'd have thought our long dormant basketball program had finally returned to life.

I'd have preferred to start SEC play with someone that isn't quite as red hot as you guys are. Our pitching has been a bit iffy at times this season while our bats have been solid. Could see some shoot out type scores.

Well yesterday sucked. Hjelle couldn't go more than 3. Bullpen getting worked hard on Friday. No Thompson today in game one. Since it's been switched to a double header I have no clue who is going to throw other than Lewis.

Lots of rustled Arky fans on the rant today.

This was a bad weekend. I don’t really have anything to add. Why wasn’t Thompson able to go?

Arkansas has been knocking the cover off the ball and you got us on our home field. In this conference if you have a bad pitching weekend, and we all have bad pitching weekends, you are going to give up a ton of runs. Its baseball, it will balance out in the long run.

We went out to the West coast, didn't play our best ball, and had some losses hung on us that will probably look silly at the end of the season. It happens. Kentucky will get back on track this weekend, but y'all definitely didn't start off SEC play with the easiest batch of opponents. If it helps any, we get Florida on Florida's field so I'm thinking we'll have a few losses under our belt as well.

Sorry guys, I've had my work cut out for me coaching baseball and returning to school myself. As you may know by now, Thompson had some arm issues and as of two weeks ago, they weren't even looking at having him the rest of the season. Obviously that has changed and it gives our staff a big boost. 2 big "must win" games against MSU has helped a bunch. Hopefully we can complete the sweep and handle Vandy next weekend. That should be good enough to host.
