Here are the 14 teams with the best chance to win the national title, according to the research, and how trends from the first four years on the playoff could work in their favor.

1. Clemson Tigers
Chance to make playoff: 66 percent
Chance to win the title: 24 percent

2. Alabama Crimson Tide
Chance to make playoff: 47 percent
Chance to win the title: 14 percent

3. Georgia Bulldogs
Chance to make playoff: 45 percent
Chance to win the title: 13 percent

4. Notre Dame Fighting Irish (1/2 in ACC)
Chance to make playoff: 42 percent
Chance to win the title: 10 percent

5. Washington Huskies
Chance to make playoff: 41 percent
Chance to win the title: 10 percent

6. Ohio State Buckeyes

You know, since y'all are unbeaten... I'd kind of expect Kentucky to get at least a mention.

I mean for Pete's sake Oklahoma came within a heartbeat of losing to Army at home this year and they have a better shot then you do?

Any unbeaten team should be in the hunt, and above teams with a loss, at least at this point in the season.

Hope we keep proving them wrong. Maybe if we do well enough we can watch them melt live on national tv

To be fair, a big part is the CFP.

For what ever reason, Heather has become the voice for the CFP coverage the way Joe is for M basketball and Charlie is for W basketball. She has Indiana and ACC ties via Maryland so she always seems to show bias there.
