Throwing out Centipede seeds before this week of rain

I have some thin/bald spots that I was going to rake some seed into but worried about the constant rain we are suppose to get the rest of this week. Will it hurt it or should I be okay?
TIA
TIA

I was actually thinking about doing this as my front yard got destroyed when they rebuilt my flower beds and removed a large tree. I just emailed my lawn care guy and I will let you know what he says.

I would definitely rake it in. If you just throw it on top it will wash off. Even if you rake it in you will still lose some. However, rain is better than water and water is better than nothing.

what if you were to throw some out and then come over it with some peat moss? would that help hold it down?

A thin layer. 1/8-1/4 of an inch. Soil or raking it in is the best way to grow centipede from seed.
And a flat lawn is obviously better than a sloped lawn. If you rake it in or cover it with soil on a 30 degree decline then you have really strong storms then some will get washed away. A flat lawn with showers and you'll be fine.

Upcoming night temps look a bit too cool still.

Air temp isn't what makes the centipede germinate. Soil temp is responsible for germination. Centipede germinates at 70 degree soil temperature or higher. The 5 day average soil temp for Baton Rouge is 75.

that's great but this dude is sprinkling seeds on the top of his grass. His soil temp is going to be night time temp essentially.

How big are the spots? My backyard always has thin/ bald spots from dog piss every spring. Come may they’re filled in.

He’s raking them in or covering with a layer of soil. An air temp of 50 isn’t going to affect centipede seed. The soil is warm and and the plant won’t freeze.

Pretty big. I am putting it on the market soon so I need to try and get them looking better.
