I'm an active poster on a website called Tacomaworld.com and when starting a new thread, it gives the option to post a poll. I think this would be effective for better posting. It would give lurkers something to do besides post. It provides instant results to a question someone might be asking. It is also a very quick way to share your opinion without a paragraph long explanation, unless you feel obligated. It's quick, it's easy, and it's fun.

Support, as long as you are able to post on the poll thread as well.

I like the idea, as long as admins are quick to give the ban hammer to anyone who uses it as an obvious troll.
And not like a warning either, just a straight up ban.

Only if you had the option to give it a thumbs up or thumbs down. And if a poll got too many thumbs down too quickly, it disappears.

Actually, that might be a good idea for every post on the SEC Rant.

Totally agree with this. Thumb ups/downs would offset each other and result in a total score. Comment gets to a certain negative point value and it gets hidden.

It might even be a good idea to just experiment on that option with entire threads at first. Shitty thread? Thumb it down, you don't have to bug admins for an anchor.

Nah, just a thumbs up and thumbs down button on every new thread. If it gets way more thumbs down then up, it vanishes into the deep web.

Oh god...As much as I would like that, it would get abused so bad. Needs to be some sort of system/regulation if it happens..
