Older man in a Michigan cap saw my LSU sweatshirt in Lowe's -Ocala FL. He said LSU was good, but being a Michigan fan was better. I then asked how he felt about going for the "Paul Bunyan" trophy against Mich State this weekend.
He proceeded to tell me that was a Minnesota state trophy--- not Michigan. True to my southern roots & respect of elders, I just smiled & said "oh - sorry".
I wonder if he googled later? Or watched ESPN Game Day this a.m. I & most LSU supporters know LSU v. Arkansas is "the Boot" game. What do they teach in Michigan?

Probably alive back when Michigan was good in the 40's or 50's. Back to back MNC's in 1947 and 1948 but not much since.
To be fair, lately the LSU spring game has looked better than the Hogs game for the boot.
