Thanks

They should really just let anybody that requests access to post there. That place is like a desert

Dead serious.
How would an outsider get on the Vandy Board if they wanted to with the "fan base approval" requirement?
Is such a thing even possible?

Don't rank them so low next time.
Denied.
Denied.

It is possible as not all current folks with access are Vandy alums.
Perhaps a good place to start is actually following Vandy and being genuine in their future success. My guess is that will win a majority of votes needed for approval.

I'm an outsider that just wants the ability to comment on topics on the Vanderbilt forum.
If I had that ability, I would probably frequent the board more often and take an increased interest in Vanderbilt sports.
I understand the desire of forum gatekeepers to keep out troublemakers and posters that would cause problems on the team forums... this was the initial intent of board exclusivity.
What I don't understand is this need to be overly exclusive to the point where the actual forum suffers because of lack of activity and conversation... which goes against the intent of the board... To discuss Vanderbilt sports.
The forums should be designed to grow with good contributing posters regardless of their team affiliation. If a poster becomes a problem on a team forum, suspend his privileges there and move on.

This is another thing that bugs me with the team forums.
How much support is enough?
I understand Chicken not setting any hard and fast rules because he doesn't want to handcuff himself with the team forums.
But to all of a sudden retroactively remove posters that contributed, without complaints, to topical conversations on the boards and not allow them back even with board support is counterproductive and potentially harmful to the team forums in the sense that posters will just say, "frick it, it's not worth the trouble to get posting privileges on that team's board."
Anyway, I still would like access to the Vanderbilt board. Not that it makes any difference but I have two friends that are Vandy grads and one of them played football there on scholarship.
Go Dores!

Not sure about the other boards but I just put up a count for Vandy posters.
I am going to suggest you need Athanatos and InThroughTheOutDore at a minimum. Throw in a few more VU posters for good measure and you are probably in.
While I tend to agree there should be folks who have a solid enough history to move between boards it seems Chicken is defaulting back to actual fan specific folks to create a balance. There are times when I wish I could post all boards on a specific topic but that is probably tempered by folks taking advantage of such a situation that Chicken does it the way he does.
Only possible exception might be women as most of the female posters on here seem to be well adapted across most boards. Some are obvious and some are not but overall they seem to get along better without irritating the majority.
On the less travelled boards I would be well versed with the key players just to get along and go along. Joining the UK board without Kige, Belle, and Mike supporting you seems like a lost cause. If you desire VU's board do you engage Athanatos and InThroughTheOutDore on the open boards? Since they are primaries on that board they would be the folks you interact with most.
Things like putting the Dores at the bottom or your list just prior to asking to join probably does not help your cause. I don't have any particular issue with you but I will defer to the folks with the symbol before making a decision.

Yeah, it is in the fine print of the Vandy contract as they have standards to maintain.
