For 6 years, this has been the problem.

2010 having Brantley in a spread.
2011 if Brantley hadn't gotten hurt (he was playing well prior to getting hurt vs. Bama).
2012 Driskel regressing every game after UGA.
2013 Driskel hurt. Murphy hurt. Fricking Skyler starting vs. FSU.
2014 Driskel inconsistent, then Treon limiting playcalling.
2015 Grier getting suspended.

We need a fricking QB. Would solve nearly every damn problem we have.

Eason, Franks, Del Rio. One of those guys needs to start next year.

If McElwain starts Treon next year, he will be out of UF like Muschamp was in 3-4 years.

Is Treon starting next year even a possibility? Franks or Del Rio will be the starter period. Treon is done at quarterback, and Goddamn it our year would have been so much different if we had kept Driskel. With these playmakers, we would easily be undefeated.

I dont know about undefeated with the OL still being young and inexperienced, but I would venture to say we would've made both the FSU and Alabama games go down to the wire.

If Treon is done, why has he been playing the last 5 games when he's done nothing but stunk up the joint? McElwain has a disturbing fetish for the kid. I have a feeling Treon is the front runner going into next year.

I dont see it that way , treon is all he has so he has to talk him up and try to keep him confident.

He cant say oh my lawd this kid is killing my will to live on national tv

Ill bet this is the end of treon after this season is done

McElwain should have inserted Jacob Guy or Josh Grady or ANYONE beside the inept QB we kept trotting out there. I dont think anyone could be as bad or worse. I think Demarcus Robinson or Callaway or someone else could have performed better.

IF McElwain trots out Treon next year the fans will be turning on him pronto including me. Cannot tolerate one more snap from him.

Our OL is the other problem and it is in a mess right now. Will be glad that # 75 Halter leaves...what a joke at ROT. He got beat by everyone we played if he didnt have TE to help him. Fred Johnson FINALLY was put in the lineup in the 4th qt. but he is true frosh and he has his moments too. Gainesville is a long ways from Fordham for Halter in more ways than one. We should be improved on the OL next year and Ivy will be a monster along with Sharpe.

I just don't get how someone has regressed as badly as he has. Not that he was good to begin with, but holy crap, at the stuff I saw from this year.

Well Shane Matthews said in a radio show he is 100% certain Del Rio will be the starter game one next year so I don't think we have to worry about Harris next year.

After the bowl game, Treon Harris will never throw another pass at UF unless it's part of a gadget package.

Why is it so hard to believe that the guys behind Treon are even worse? Mac hasn't shown a particular aversion to shaking things up. It could be worse as Treon could be a turnover machine as well, but at least he isn't too bad about that.

I can remember when Grier would struggle during games people chiming in about trying Treon for a series of downs more often (not necessarily here). It's obvious why that didn't happen.

The kid isn't cut out to be an SEC quarterback, but I didn't find it particularly mysterious as to why the other two didn't go in. Grady wasn't good enough to play much at Vandy, and I don't think the other guys even made the depth chart.

Hopefully we can get Eason and Frank's this year. Atleast between them and Del Rio we should have a decent QB for the year or atleast till Grier returns. It's to bad we didn't get a freshmen QB this year. Things would have been so different. Would have worked out great for him , he could have finished this year and likely started next year . If he was any good he likely would be e full time starter.

You guys do realize that Grady was a wide receiver at Vanderbilt who couldn't get on the field...right? I have a feeling he was probably much worse than Treon. Maybe smarter, but much worse of a player.

Agreed...considering they have 8 passes between them (all coming from Grady)

Coach may feel like Harris gives us the best chance. Hell, he could flip a switch and have an LSU kind of game and throw for 270+ on a good Defense...

Possibly, but I think the East actually had the better defenses across the board. They just all had the same problem - 0 QB production.

The 1985 Bears defense would have lost a lot more games if their offense went 3 and out for the 20 minutes they had the ball every game.
