I think the change in scheme and playcalling alone will show a huge difference

Next year could be tough we likely lose 3-5 games . Changing systems on offense and defense will make it even harder . It will all come down to QB play and having a QB who fits Mullen’s system.

Pretty sure Miss State was 4-3 before Grantham, they went from 110th to 10th overall D. So Grantham has learned how to transition better from when he was at UGA.
Mullen adapted his offense to his personnel many times. The Leak led offenses.

A lot of people are thinking that this is going to be Muschamp or McElwain -- he's going to be jamming square pegs into round circles for the first year.
It's not. Mullen adapts, you can't win eight games a year with less talent without doing it.

I'll believe it when I see it.
Because Chris Leak was sure as hell a square peg in a round hole in 2005.
And there isn't anyone on the roster even close to Chris Leak as it stands right now.
And forget the offense, the defense and special teams are in shambles too.

What happened in 2006? He was a lot younger then, too.

We have no idea what the quarterbacks really look like. I've given up on Franks, but there are certainly other guys who could run his offense -- and even if they can't, we at the very least know that he'll be creative and manage to somehow get yards anyway.

Defense is absolutely not in shambles. It was young and at times got blown out because of a lack of depth and key injuries. You don't lose both of your senior safeties, your best defensive linemen (then his backup) along with two suspended lbers (for depth) and look good.
At the very least next year we won't be missing 6 defensive players before the season starts unless we get another suspension fest.
As for Special Teams, really, we have the best punter and kicker in the country -- the problem is we just don't have the athletes to help them out. I think we have a few commits who absolutely will be able to contribute.

It was year 2. Defense carried that team, offense was decent.

Anytime someone says this it essentially means they don't have a QB. At all. Which is true. That being said, his worst offense at MSU was in the 70s, so I bet he can at least do that.

Yes it is. The LB's are laterally slow, and can't defend well on the edges, and they have no depth behind them.
There isn't an SEC caliber safety on the roster right now.
The DL is meh, and UF still doesn't have an elite pass rusher.
Special teams outside of the kicking games is a frickING DISASTER. And our AA punter is gone.
